"Unfortunate. I find myself fortunate to have a Padawan like D'an. A very patient student, and well read. I wish I had had the insight to expand my knowledge base, but I focused far too much on my ability to touch the Force."
Da'n pipes up here, asking Ascar if he feels bad for the people that Persis and Majora killed on Mandragos and beyond.
"I regret a lot of what happened in that time, "says Ascar. "I certainly never intended it. Still, you can hardly hold me responsible for the murders they committed. I hardly asked them to do it. Quite the contrary. And you will find, young one, that loss of life is not quite the disaster you perhaps think it is. The Force goes on."

"I mean no offense, but you hardly reigned in your students, though," Gallagher says. "No, you did not order them to kill anyone, but you did not do anything to rectify the problems they caused."
"True enough," Gallagher says. "I find it unlikely that the Jedi would have caught up with Kuylen's lackeys on Malastare if you had simply given them the Astrolabe and sent them on their merry way. The whole thing was disastrous, from Roan's tales of Zeiton, but I dread to think what would have happened if only Kuylen's people had reached Zeiton, as far as its inhabitants are concerned."
She's not quite sure yet. She wants time to think about it.

"Well in fact, I warned the Jedi not to go to Zeiton. I tried to arrange it so they would intercept Kuylen before that but, failing that, I knew it wasn't worth going out there. I was not heeded." He shrugs. "Often the way."

Wentar smiles. "He almost sounds like a Renegade," he says jokingly. "I'd be lying if I said I never thought about how the order can do things differently. The Padawans spending time with Ascar is a similar situation to if the Padawans were to spend time with myself, Xeth or any other Renegade, unless your trying to say that Ascar would intentionally try and mislead them."
He shrugs, tapping in Ascar's latest course correction.
"To be fair, what force-user is ready for everything the Galaxy holds. I've seen wise and experienced Jedi skim dangerously close to the Dark Side while their Padawan's remain blissfully unaware about what's going on. Sometimes the mind of a learner can adapt while the mind of the teacher is too stuck in his ways to handle what he finds."

"Most of the Renegade Jedi that join up with me just want to help clean up the Galaxy, one bit at a time. I like to break conspiracies wide open. Vera-Kin has a history with investigation. Wentar fought pirates and slavers. Most I keep tabs on but they're out doing their own thing. Not every path joins with mine, obviously."
Xeth shrugs.
"Just keep an eye on Ascar, as I said earlier. I have a feeling your protocol friend might come in handy wherever we're going... or at least I hope so."

Time passes, as you head out to Kalinus VI. Contact with the Republic is sporadic out here, though not entirely impossible. Distortion tends to be so bad that only recorded messages can be sent; a live conversation is a nightmare.
Your flotilla of ships hurls out of hyperspace to find...
... a simple planetary system. Your initial readings show no other ships,. no anomalies and no comms traffic in the area.

"I do not believe I have ever been anywhere so isolated," Jelena says, flipping through the different scans. She comms over to Roan's ship. "So, Ascar, which planet is it that we are visiting?"
How many planets in the system?

Sorry for being rather inactive. I'm moving to a new place on April first (no joke) and things are not going as planned currently. Logistic nightmares and not to mention I still haven't had time to buy me a couch so it seems I'll be sitting on the floor for some time.
About the earlier discussions, it's too late now to mention it but do I have a general knowledge of the Witches of Dathomir?

"Soapy, I want a full sensor sweep, lets just make sure there is nothing out there." Denzral kicked in the sublights and sped ahead of the other ships. It appears everyone made it here, so the fourth planet..." he banked and headed for it "...here we come."

Vlad nods to Wentar's words, pondering about them. He decides to move over next to Wentar when they finally enter the system. He wanted to have a good look of this unknown system.
"Amazing, isn't it? There are still many and many planets such as these that are still unknown to most of us."
