Exactly where is the plot in this game? We were promised a good story but it's hardly found. I'm going through Arcade and it's like any of the other fighting games: Just run through all the stages until you get to the boss and beat him. There's hardly ever any story with that. And after Galactus is defeated, there are two lame comic book scenes for each character that shows random bits. Most of them aren't even amusing. Sure we get what happened in those long episodic trailers but it would be nice if there were cutscenes between each stage or something to go deeper into what's happening in the merged world of Marvel and Capcom and I would appreciate it if they weren't like those said lame comic scenes if that happened. I mean come on here, I've seen better plots in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe and at least that game showed more effort into plot making than MvC.
Also, where does this fit into the story? (please log in to view the image)
The heroes were fighting Magneto, MODOK, and Wesker (sort of) over that vial that holds unknown properties. A plot device gets shown off and it's not even used or even shown in the game? What the heck Capcom?

Lol, people love to throw around the word "Over Powered", Sent's a *****. Literally, the only thing that makes MVC3 total ass is XF. Sent wasn't even that bad 'before' the nerf. Now you can kill him usin only 1 meter if you catch him assistin. And hell, a list of characters can smoke Sent with 1 meter when he's point.

Never seen that one!
Never played Project Justice, Rival Schools or Techromancer, I see. For shame

Cuz nobody plays MVC for stories, like most fighting games. The games I named were exceptions. Those games were meant to be taken as anime-esque fighters, clearly...
Tech
Rival Schools

Yeah you just keep telling yourself that. If you're a Sentinel user, it's no surprise you want to defend the ultimate trumpcard for noobs.
Well they promised to deliver an amazing story and the only story they delivered wasn't amazing at all, it was incredibly laughable. I'm sure the stories for Tech Romancer and Rival Schools are good but did the guys who wrote the scripts for those write the one for MvC3 as well? If so then holy crap are they losing their touch.
No, I don't even play MVC3 anymore cuz it's garbage. I used Sent from time to time, but none of my teams had to have him. My main team was Cap, Chris and Ryu. Every fighter I play, I main low tier, whenever possible. "The ultimate trump card for noobs" is XF. If your gettin bodied by "noobs" with Sent, then you do need to put the controller down and walk away, cuz there's a million and 1 strategies and tactics to shut down skilled Sentinel players, let alone scrubby ones.
Yeah, they made a promise, but what fan gives a f**k about stories in fighters? Capcom already catered to noobs by making the game easy as shit (completely ruining the damn game). Now you want "story"? The time invested in makin a story could be put in balancin the game and making sure it works, and to MVC3's credit, the game is incredibly well balanced to have such ridiculousness goin on with almost 40 characters. Honestly, could be the most balanced mainstream fighter, this gen, next to OG Super.
And Frank Tieri wrote MVC3's story. He's a Marvel writer.

Well I want a good story for a fighting game like MvC3. It's cool to see characters do things other than just fight each other all the time. Besides, Marvel is a comic book company so a story would have made a lot of sense.
I don't mind good stories in fighting games. In fact I like them when they are done well. Just like MK9's story mode. Granted they just retold the first 3 games and used that for a lenghty campaign(by fighting game standards) They have done an accomplishment and other companies should follow through without taking away from gameplay.
as much as I disagree with End on things, his last two posts are spot on for me also.
For Example: Blazblue's story is nice if you're a weeaboo but all the anime cliche stuff is in there and honestly it's just annoying sometimes. Especially when it involves characters I don't care about. Like most of the characters in most fighting games.

God, you're just a bucket of misery now. Now you're on the fringe! Nice to see you being honest, though. MVC3 gets a lot of hate but the game is well balanced. You're going to be even more annoyed next year when Capcom releases [SPOILER - highlight to read]: Hyper Marvel VS Capcom 3. And I am not trolling, it is really going to happen.
Side note: Niitsuma wants MOAR Darkstalkers! Rejoice!
