Not mentioning attachment and forbidding it are two different things. It doesn't have to be mentioned at all, I'm not sure what's so hard to understand about this. Now if it mentioned it then you would have a point. But not taking a stance on something and later taking a stance on something isn't a continuity issue. Taking a stance on something and going back on it later may be, which is still debatable.

Has there been any other rumors or spoilers that Revan possibly may not be dead?

Or was Bioware really stupid enough to bring back one of its best characters, have him state that he will continue what he started, only to have killed by some Sith spacers in a mid-level raid shortly afterwards?

Nah. Drew is just the writer for the JK. Daniel Erickson is the lead writer of TOR.

Judging from the end game content and the people who finished the game already then no, no rumors.
