Unlike other apponents Germany wonīt have 3 or 4 players on Messi when heīs on the ball, theyīll get the fast Philip Lahm to concentrate on Messi and try and go forward and score goals in a "attack is the best for of defence" sort of way.
Whether this tactic comes off is another thing, I think the team who manages to put away their chances will win this game.
I wonder if this will be the game where Maradonna throws a wobbler and does something unpredictable. Because lets face it, itīs only a matter of time before he does something daft.

I don't know, the German attack is very good at creating opportunities, though in most games they fail to put away 2 or 3 amazing chances. If they can keep that up and capitalize on them in the Argentina game they definitely have a chance, their defense is not great, but it's by no means bad, either.
What people forget is that it is a team game, if Messi pulls 3 or 4 players onto him this gives other players the chance to do damage and Argentina win the world cup then that wonīt bother the Argentians methinks-.
If you watch how Messi controls the ball not matter how the pass or long ball comes, the way he passes it effectively not to mention the goals which came about due to his runs and shots on goal, poacher goals, then you have to be impressed.
Those who expect him to run past the whole apposing team and score 3 goals each game are dreamers and donīt know much about football imo.
You're right, but even when it comes to that he hasn't impressed me much. I've only seen two Argentina games this tournament, but whenever he got the ball, in those games, he seemed to just lose it except for that one shot against South Korea (I think) of which he managed to volley the rebound right on the post (which is very hard to do so accurately) which led to that Higuain tap in. I was much more impressed by Agüero when he came in for Messi that match.
Also, I'm quite confident about my football knowledge.
My "Those who expect him to run past the whole apposing team and score 3 goals each game are dreamers and donīt know much about football imo." comment wasnīt aimed at you, but more at the daft commentars on the TV who go on about "Messi hasnīt scored yet, disaster" sort of attitude.
So far it's seemed Messi has just lured defenders around him and assisted in goals, and to be fair, if all those defenders weren't on him, he'd be scoring the goals.
I think Greece had the best defense against Argentina which was making sure the ball doesn't go to Messi in the first place. Of course they lost, but for the majority of the game, Argentina didn't have that many chances until towards the end, when Messi finally broke free and caused shit.
But in the Mexico game, Messi just danced around defenders trying to tackle him, I think he took on 3 defenders easily and then took a shot on the edge of the penalty area, but it got saved.
Tbh, England easily overtook Germany's defense, like it was nothing, and we were horrible that game, except for Lampard and Ashley Cole. Argentina have been full form this tournament, and they have Messi.
And Gerrard? he was the best England player imo, fighting and pushing like a true captain. Lampard did well but canīt say Ashley Cole was any good, after all heīs a left back and where was he went the goals were scored? Worse still where the hell was John Terry, the "world class" defender ?
I recon some internal conflict between players or even the manager and players may have has something to do with the pathetic performance.
Oh well itīs over now, will be forgotten and the same will happen again in 2 years if we qualify for the European countrys cup.
Time to move on and I think Iīll support Uruguay now. I like their kit, (reminds me of the sea), with Forlan and Suarez are two hungry players who are enjoying the challenge. And they arnīt favourites to win the title
It's true about Germany's defence though. I was never impressed by Arne Friedrich in the first place, Mertesacker has been out of shape for seasons now, Lahm was very disappointing defensively and Boateng is just not a back.
Nah, Gerrard was desperate, all his shots were off target or at the keeper. I was going to say Gerrard though because he did play alright, but, towards the end, if you're in a bad position to score...don't try.
Ashley Cole and Glen Johnson are wingbacks, IE they push forward. Ashley Cole was brilliant at defending, always tackling Ozil or whoever came down the left flank, always running up and setting up attacks, and for the forth goal, he was the only player that stayed back. Barry, Terry and Upson were all in the box like donkeys.
I agree, Terry is a worldclass player, but he's still a dickhead. Probably had a massive argument with Capello, which might've resulted in him being played as a right centre back rather than a left centre back which he's played in for so many years, and he was the problem for all the goals, especially the first.
Oh come on, if I'm rooting for your country at least you could.
the Netherlands should have scored 2 more goals though near the end with Kuyt and then 3 players in the Brazilian box against the goaly and didnīt score.
All players obviously give their all though, they looked knackered at the end.
Robben was brilliant, causing absolute mayhem. Ok he falls too easy some times.
Now the knives are out for Dunga "why did you leave Pato, Ronaldino etc behind", "Why are we playing like europeans".
