saw these great words in the spidey forum...

I don't want to see a completely altered Spider-man because everyone got this weird mentality of "We have the first black president, so why shouldn't we have the first black Captain America, and Spider-man and everything else"

Fact: the inferior genetics of the negro prevent heroism.

Oh, that was so obvious it didn't need to be pointed out, that's why I was confused.
He'd obviously be a villain, anyway.

Good point. I don't think the character would really change just the apperance of said character. We've always seen Peter Parker as the geeky white guy, he's always been white and portrayed by white actors.
Not that it really matters. I say go for it, see how it turns out.
But again as everyone's already pointed out. Regardless of whos played Spiderman I'm not sure I really want another Spiderman film...

I think it just comes down to the principle of the whole thing. I support a black spider-man (unless done as an alternate-universe spider-man) as much as I support a white Storm, or a Mexican Samus... I just don't.
I am not even entirely fond of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. Halle Berry as Catwoman was terrible (but, to be fair, that movie would have been terrible with a white woman as well) And I hated Michael Clark Duncan as Wilson Fisk.

Stan Lee created him as a cripple. He's no longer crippled.
Stan Lee created him as the leader of the X-men. He's no longer in charge.
Stan Lee created him with the power to telekinetically deflect marbles. He can no longer do that.
Stan Lee created him as a morally pure person. He's been revealed as kind of a dick.
Those were all changes made in the actual story, right? If the story had changed X into a black guy, then I'd be all like "Ok, go for it!" I'd say the same for Spiderman... if, say, Peter Parker died and some black kid took over (Kinda like what happened with Ben Reilley) then I'd be like "Ok, cool, lets see a movie about that guy." But, I still wouldn't support him (the theoretical black kid) being changed into a white guy for the movie.

There is no "actual story". Comicbook continuity is an extremely tenuous thing that can be erased with a single off hand comment.

No, its that SLJ doesnt act the role properly. He sounds like SLJ in another movie except playing as Fury. The looks are dead on but his acting is the problem.
