I just thought a bit more on how nice it would be for Ganondorf to be included if there is to be an MK9 for the Wii U. He could actually throw fatalities, animalities, brutalities, you name it...
The Gamecube version of Deception had Goro and Shao Kahn as exclusives, and the Wii version of Armageddon had Khameleon which the xbox and PS2 versions lacked, so a Wii U version of MK9's bound to have something special.
-------
Kano's getting on my nerves online now more than those other commonly spammed characters. Just about everyone who uses him does nothing but upballs and whatnot, which has little to no cooldown on block. I've more or less gotten around the big 4 now, but Kano is just ridiculous. Still like his accent though, no charge...

Agreed. Whatever they do with the Wii-U version, I expect it to be awesome.
Also, checked the tier list and rejoiced. Reptile's not shit tier. (or top/high, I like mids.) I've always played Reptile, he needs more attention in the story, though. For the first secret character ever in a fighting game, they seem to abuse him somewhat. D:
Edit: Nevermind, was a bad tier list, will keep looking.

Agreed. I'd say 'somewhat' would be an understatement though. Story-wise, he and Baraka are like the ultimate punching bags, pretty much. D: What I really don't like though is how they weakened some of Reptile's moves/combos in the first game patch. Like there's this one 3-hit combo of his that only does 7% damage now. >__> To be fair though, he is one of those characters who can juggle the shit out of you if you're not careful (i.e. Slow force ball, fast force ball, followed by uppercut or somethin' like that), so he's still got quite a bit going for him, more or less. I just love Rep's classic costume more than ever, now.

On a random note, y'all know that feeling you get when you get so much better at a game, that you feel dumb for ever making some of the complaints you made before about a certain part? I feel that way now with the challenge tower, or at least the challenges with the characters I've been maining or have been getting better with. No matter who it is you're trying to improve with, replaying the 300th challenge is always one of the best ways. When I was doing so with Shang Tsung and Johnny Cage, I randomly learned/discovered some stuff/combos with them that I never knew before. You can also learn that way when you watch closely at how the AI does a certain combo when you're fighting them on the hardest difficulty, and then try to replicate that combo.
Sadly, the only character faqs I see on gamefaqs at the moment are Scorpion, Reptile, Kitana (one of my friends whose a real good player on the PS3 did this one), and Stryker. <_< As much as I love Scorpion though, I can hardly bring myself to play as him online anymore with how vastly overused he is..

Indeed, his punching bag status is a constant irk of mine, he's such an awesome character. As for the classic costume? Hell yes. Do want. I really, really hope that I can get it when MK9 comes out for Wii-U.

I understand the feeling.
One good thing about Shang Tsung, is that he gains an ATK boost whenever he morphs iirc. Against Quan Chi, that ability is deelish, considering QC can himself boost his ATK. Also, I`ve never tried it, but can you morph into the boss characters?
I don't bother with Scorpion online either. Mostly because I like Smoke more than Scorpion as far as gameplay goes. Sub-Zero's another one that I like more than Scorpion.
Also, Reptile's dash is ass. The thing sucks balls, even if you block cancel a dash into another dash.
And I better get back to MK and get better with characters. Been busy playing the Assassin's Creed games. Even though we can't play against each other in MK, I don't want to eat your dust.

Am sure we will. At least Reptile was shown to dodge bullets when climbing up a building though. Granted, Kabal and Stryker seemed to have crappy aim at the time, but yeah.
Yep. At first I thought you could only gain an attack boost once whenever you do his soul steal special for him to morph, but it seems there's pretty much no limit to it. When I replayed the challenge in the tower where you have to fight with him against Baraka, Sindel, and Shao Kahn, I pretty much raped the competition from the constant power boosts, which in turn made Tsung's x-ray all the more powerful when I used it against Kahn. xD One thing too I didn't know for the longest time is that whenever you do one of Tsung's throws/grapples, he'll regain a little bit of health in the process like his soul steal special in the previous games used to do. And seeing as how Quan Chi's skeletal boost thingy either gives him a power boost or health boost (or both if you do the enhanced special version of that move), that pretty much makes 'em even in that regard. Deadly alliance indeed...
My favorite newly learned combo with Shang that I found out last night, is doing his close ground fireball right after doing his Y, Y, X combo, or doing the enhanced special version of that right after (well I guess for you, it would be triangle, triangle, square, followed by down+up+circle before the opponent lands on the ground ).
As for being able to morph into the boss characters as Tsung, no, you can't do that sadly. But you still get a power boost when you do the soul steal special against them, so it counts for something at least. I always did that against Goro and Kintaro for some easy power boosts when I was replaying the 300th challenge with him. (funny how when you fight Goro/Kintaro and Kahn in the arcade ladder as Tsung, he'll be morphed into them for a few seconds when he's walking towards them, during his little character intro thingy)
I know what ya mean about Smoke. It's sweet how when you do his specials where you turn into a cloud of smoke and dash forward or backward, you'll be immune to projectiles. His shake/vibration thingy counters against projectiles too, though I hardly ever use it when playing as him (took me the longest time to figure out that move's purpose at first, lol). Subzero, I wasn't too impressed with for some reason (gameplay-wise). Kinda like using Cyber Subzero more..
When fighting a Scorpion player, the only thing I really have to watch out for anymore is his hellfire special, since it's unblockable. Scorp's slide kick doesn't have nearly as much range as it did in MKvsDC too, unless they decide to do the enhanced special version of it, which is rarely the case.
Agreed about Reptile's dash.
Fair 'nuff. Competitive-wise, I actually didn't start getting back into the game again until last night, due to being distracted with other games for awhile too. In the not-too-distant future, I'm thinking about maybe recording some intense random online matches I win and upload them to youtube, since my friend who made the Kitana faq on gamefaqs has been doing that some. This is some of his btw if anyone's interested (yes, he's Japanese).
Oi... I think this tremendous guide here will help me/us immensely. Some characters may have yet to have their faqs completed there though, but still a very great source nonetheless. More-so than gamefaqs at the moment anyway.
I like what I read for the "stupid trap" strategy under Shang Tsung's faq, among other stuff. Ought to try that one sometime. But man, so much stuff to learn now it seems, I almost feel overwhelmed. Guess I better get to practicing. I feel inferior enough when playing this game online as it is, more often than not. Need to 1up my game strategies here.
Of course, knowing all that useful stuff is only half the battle...

Guess I'll give my first impressions of Skarlet, after having downloaded her an hour or two ago (got her for free thanks to this season pass thing I got which gives a discount on her and all future downloadable characters/costumes ). She's definitely as fast as she was hyped up to be, and dayum. She's got a lot more moves and combos than your average joe (that includes her tag combos and such as well). Just beat the arcade ladder with her and am waiting to find out on how to do her other fatalities, as they're currently locked on my move list.
There were also pictures of Rain and classic Noob & Smoke on my dashboard. The new Rain looks pretty cool.
But yeah, about Skarlet. Her back throw damage should be fixed in a couple days. A nice start... They know she needs a patch before the download is even available on PSN. There's also this crazy ass combo with her that I and some others tested out and does massive damage:
