Really, it's time for his character to die and there's no way that he could survive that. Even if they're eviscerating the other guy, he would be next and it would be impossible for him to escape.

Honestly, I was hoping he died in that alley. It would have been a fitting death for his character arc, being so selfless it ended up costing him his life, and it isn't as needlessly brutal as seeing him get beat to death by a sadist.
I was hoping he died here and that Daryl would be the one to get beat to death. Makes no sense to have a thematically meaningful fake out death only to replace it with a meaningless real one at the end of the season.
Even worse, they just did this crap less than 5 episodes ago. In the last season finale, Glenn managed to survive a certain death scenario. And now they are doing it again? And his escape have will be even more implausible this time?
Like I said, would have been better for Glenn to have died in that alley. Trying to Jon Snow him, especially when he's fated to die in some manner (for maggies arc) at some point by the end of the season, and he just implausibly escaped death last season, was incredibly stupid on the writers part.
[SPOILER - highlight to read]: [JASON] Late 20s-30s, CAUCASIAN /LATINO. Smart, friendly, and charming with a puckish sense of humor. He can be a thief, but he'll only steal half of what you have, and only if he knows it won't cause any permanent damage. He's generally a benevolent guy -- pretty much making friends with everyone he meets. RECURRING GUEST STAR W/ SERIES OPTION FOR SUBSEQUENT SEASONS (7/16). ARTIST MUST BE AVAILABLE 8/22-11/19.

so let me get this straight...
Morgan listens to his new friend tell a story about failing to kill a convicted criminal who was trying to kill him, which leads to the same convicted criminal killing his wife and children. After that, he watches his new friend get killed by someone who he has previously failed to kill... and Morgan's takeaway from all of this is that his dead friend's "all life is precious" way of life is valid?
Yeah he did. [SPOILER - highlight to read]: He choked him out which is what led to him being a zombie a month or so later. What I found stupid was that Eastman, who is obviously proficient in Aikido and had a staff in his hand, didn't just step next to Morgan and hit the damn walker with his staff versus trying to pull Morgan out of the way.
