and then some, dadudemon, and then some. wow, why can't the author just make this a seinen manga already? all that'll change is just the rating, everything else is already in place for a seinen audience.
and wow, an unknown brother of Shigure. usually, such a twist can be seen coming in other mangas, but this actually did somewhat surprise me.
However, if the rating changes, then it cannot be sold in all stores. Japan has a law about their mangas not "corrupting youth" so only specific setups can sell mature stuff.
My argument is the manga is already mature and the justification of a shounen rating is actually dumb: it is already seinen to the max with its ecchi elements. It's stupid that a very petty and actually irrelevant requirement (nips, vag, and ******* can't be shown) because they cut it as close to the border, literally, as possible.

no kidding. while I can understand that the audience size would be reduced if the rating was changed, a lot of people read it as it is and if anything the audience size is increasing. the transition from shounen to seinen would be nonexistent. hell, I imagine business would go up considerably for those select places that sell seinen manga.
Yeah this series really needs to be a seinen. I'm tired of seeing thue author constantly tap-dance over the line with his fanservice. The transition would allow him to use fanservice that's both entertaining and semi-logical for whatever is happening not unlike Highschool Dxd: another fanservice heavy anime that's actually quite enjoyable.
As for the chapter. Even with the reveal an Shigure's skills, this is still worse than Lance of the West: its that bad and the dude hasn't even lost.
I think business would increase because it would attract another audience and the "overly cautious" parents in Japan (which are far fewer and far between compared to the US Consumers) would not really register on the sales RADAR.
I think with an upgrade in the sexy elements (no longer cutting it close to the border...just showing shit) with a massive toning down of the sexy elements (so it isn't so stupid like it is, now) would actually increase the quality of the manga.
I know you guys probably do not agree with me but Shigure being nude while in that holding cell is legit. She is a weapons grand master and anything she can get her hands on can and does become a deadly weapon. Anything. Cloth, thread, buttons, anything. The best way they can protect themselves is by restraining her hands and feet. They goal was to get her to talk so they had to leave her mouth free.
My point is, despite it being over-the-top ecchi, it was still necessary and the plot did call for that, logically. However, she could have just as easily put on some clothes within the first few seconds of getting free. She's fast enough. One could argue that the guards' clothing would encumber her movements but her brother, in the armor, disproves that.
Shigure being nude in the holding cell is legit.Shigure going an entire chapter nude even after she's free isn't. Also if it were that serious they really should've took the choker. Not only would it have been more practical but it would've also made the mouse look more badass for helping her get out. To make matters even more awkward, this is the first time that Shigure has complained about being nude which is weird considering what she wears even when she isn't nude.
Someone said that the pervert comment was perverting the weapons creation technology that her father protected and it had nothing to do with her being naked.

wakkawakkawakka has a point. if they really believed that, they would have removed the choker too. hell, I'm surprised that none of the Hachiou Executioner Blade members noticed it.
and I think I was the one that made comment. it had occurred to me back then that she didn't seem too mindful of being nude until those guys showed up with the swords and that was about when she started calling them a pervert, presumably for their scientifically crafted weapons.
Okay you guys have convinced me. The comment being directed to the super scientifically made blade makes more sense now.
Though I also just thought of something else. Why didn't the security at Big Lock ever think about using this resin to restrain its superhuman prisoners.
That's a good question. But, they addressed it, sort of, in the chapters. Basically, the bad guys stayed there out of respect as martial artists because they were defeated fair and square in a fight with the good guys.
Well yeah that's the reason why the bad guys haven't broken out, but that still doesn't cover why Big Lock's security is so goddamn incompetent. You'd think they would use electrified floors, gassing the cells or event the entire prison, or some way to knock them out before using this kickass resin. Or to be even more extreme and sci-fi how about the use of bomb collars...I don't know just something to make Big Lock seem like a master class prison. Heck I'd actually bet Kenichi could break out of there with a little more experience: maybe that's going a bit too far.

and yeah, I've wondered that myself too. maybe they thought the security they had at Big Lock was good enough at first? it's not like they knew what exactly grand master class martial artists were capable of prior to actually locking up Diego and Alexander anyway. so hopefully they've started to beef up security ever since Diego and Alexander showed that they could get out.
These masters are relatively unimpressive. Kenichi's would kick their asses. Shigure has jack shit compared to her usual gear and she is still fighting evenly with one of them. :T

perhaps so, but they are still master class and should be stronger than that politician master. Kenichi would get his ass kicked/killed if he fought one of them, no doubt about it.
It falls under the "Storm Trooper" trope. They may be deadly but they are dumb and constantly make dumb mistakes. A true martial arts master would know that even a strand of her hair could be used as a blade (they would have shaved her head bald had they known that she can and has used hair as a weapon).

I suppose it would. but then, with her hands and legs restrained by those locks, I suppose they had enough reasonable doubt to ignore the possibility of Shigure reaching for her choker, though the senbon needles hidden underneath were a bit of a surprise. I'd have expected her to use the choker as a weapon, but such thin yet dangerous things underneath it? a surprise.
