That would be foolish, and it's emotional too. Think about the consequences. You would stop the fight for now, but it would just be another failed crusade. We need to be more creative then that.

So Rob. You hear about that ****ing jet plane that just crashed into San Bruno?

edit- They're actually not sure if it's a jet or not. It might be a gas station.

If Mormons have had to put up with it for 150 years (and we are relatively harmless), then Muslims shouldn't be an exception. mad Mormons put up with, every damn year, multiple times a year, the burning of our Book of Mormon and the burning of our sacred undergarments.

If the Qur'an and hijabs were burned, multiple times a year, around Muslim holy days, shit would hit the fan.

That said, I would love to bury my fist into the face of the a**holes that burn our book and undergarments (I would never want to kill them, though.). no expression

I have never seen a Book of Mormon in a hotel room but I usually see a Qur'an and Holy Bible. erm

Hooooray for anecdotes that are irrelevant!

how would this stop any fight?

in fact, it escalates the fight and probably ensures that Pakistan gives nuclear material to terrorist groups...

probably the worst possible idea ever (not that you disagreed with that part)

indeed. But you can probably aspire to be morally superior to a civilization that is remembered for its cruelty, inequality and bloodshed.

did you even think about these examples?

Because there's not a billion of you, and you're not warriors. Early Muslims conquered the Middle East, Turkey, North Africa and parts of the Indian Subcontinent. Early Mormons, on the other hand, massacred an unarmed caravan of 140 people from Arkansas headed to California, as it passed through Utah. (Which was coincidentally on September 11th, 1857).

Lucky for Mormonism the Civil War happened when it did, otherwise, it would have been wiped from the map.

Brigham Young sent a letter reply back to let the travelers pass through, without harm. Young excommunicated several of the participants in the massacre, that were Mormon. John D. Lee was later excommunicated and executed for his actions.

There were also very high tensions at the time because there was a Utah War going on. Not that their actions were justified.

What it boils down to: Militiamen acting independently of the Territory leader's directions, and going too far in a military campaign. How many Indians were massacred by non-Mormon Americans in early American history?

Wait, what is this thread about, again?

That's not true at all. There was more of an apathetic perspective on Mormons, once they moved west, from D.C. (Didn't become a big deal until later when the territory started towards "state-hood.")

What I find wrong with the whole ordeal is the interrogation from Brigham Young to Lee that resulted in Young believing Lee that it was the Native Americans who perpetuated the attack. Young should have seen right through his BS lies..cause like...he was a prophet. no expression

Saying it's a gas line, though I suspect a conspiracy to hide the fact that Islamist hijacked and crashed another plane.

On the positive side, San Bruno blows.

From a Yahoo article about this guy:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/quran_burning

"We are, of course, now against any other group burning Qurans," Jones said. "We would right now ask no one to burn Qurans. We are absolutely strong on that. It is not the time to do it."

He's nuttier than a whole bag of nuts dipped in peanut butter and dragged through a tub of walnuts by Alex Jones.

I don't know...

Bloodthirsty is certainly one of the first terms I'd use to describe Roman society

Really? Seriously?

Republic, Roman Law, roads, bath houses, wells, coliseums, Julius, and the letters you're using to type this out don't spring into your mind before ''bloodthirsty''?

Interesting...
