Tali, Garrus, Virmire Survivor, this new guy Vega, Liara and if you decide to fall victim to EA's scheme, a Prothean companion.
If they survive you'll see every party member in ME2 but Thane but it'll be like for a cutscene only.
So the party blows IMO. The VS is a bland character regardless. Tali and Garrus are cool and all but they've been in all three games. Vega is a prototypical human, male marine. Very special. Lirara is great for a lot but she's meh to me.
Gender: Male Location: In Luna's mane, chasing STAAARS!
Well no crap. Seriously, who would not think it would be EDI when they read jalek's post? I'm just making my post more obvious so it'll save you guys the trouble of trying to be oh so secret about this character. Also, what other character would have three letters in their name? Am I being a smartass? Why yes indeed but only 'cause somebody wanted to use a joke as overrused as the majority of internet memes.
It's more of the resentment of the epic characters they've created in ME2 won't return as your squadmates. So instead of a singing, brilliant scientist Salarian, or a badass Krogan and a freaking Geth we get a male marine.
Spend 80 hours worth of a game developing the shit out of a cast of characters, just so they can all... disappear in the next one. In favor of new characters. This is the third installment of the series. We don't need new characters.
As for not judging the game before it comes out, well, Bioware lost it's "untouchable" status after the steaming pile of shit that is DragonAge 2 and TOR. They've earned my nervousness as of late.

Mass Effect ain't untouchable either. DA was good and all but ME trumps the heck out of it. Buuuuut the leaked script of ME3 had a lot of people pissed.
Yah totally. Cookie cutter level designs and forgettable characters are awesome.

I'm not. I see nothing child-like about her in ME2. She comes off as a 25-35 year old human female. She's also far from naive. She is also twice as strong as a human (scccchhhwwwwing!) Not sure why that stigma carried over from the first game. Part of her charm is that she's smart and very capable but still...well...adorable.
