Jon Spaihts was hired to write the prequel. In July 2010, it was reported that LOST’s Damon Lindelof had been hired to do rewrites on Spaihts’ script.
There’s been mixed reports on whether Prometheus is part of the Alien Universe or not. After all it started out as a direct prequel to Alien and transformed into a standalone film. According to Ridley Scott, the last 8 minutes of Prometheus will lead off to the events in Alien. Not specifically with how the Derelict came to crash on LV-426.
The film will focus on the Space Jockey race we saw in Alien. They’re referred to as Engineers in the film
The story doesn’t take place on Earth but Earth maybe featured in the characters’ flashbacks.
Prometheus is the name of the characters’ spacecraft.
The film will reportedly feature early versions of the creatures seen in the Alien series. How the xenomorph creature came to be created in the first place.
Ridley Scott originally said that the Space Jockey isn’t a creature in itself… it’s a suit with another creature inside.
Michael Fassbender’s character is an android. There maybe another android in the film.
In the recently released production stills, we can see the characters exploring the Ampule room which has a large humanoid face in the room.
We'll see. Steven Spielberg said much the same thing for Indiana Jones 4, and that wasn't really true. But I'm not as anti-CG as others here. Just so long as it looks like an Alien film, and we don't get what we saw in Alien Resurrection, where we got CG creatures running around like the raptors from Jurassic Park.

When I say Alien Resurrection, I'm not saying Alien 3.
Remember when they were chasing them underwater, and up ladders? They were using CG just because they could, as Jurassic Park had perfected it four years earlier. But it totally took away from the mystery, having them run around in the light rather than the shadowy corridors. At the time, that's what made me think of the raptors in Jurassic Park, them doing FX like that.

Ah, fair enough. Well, I guess you can't make all those ants out of practical effects. They did have one or two straight car chases that didn't have much/any CGI. But I don't think it was CGI alone that ruined Indy IV.. but anyway. I don't see Ridley Scott throwing a bunch of CGI aliens all over the place. He understands mood a bit better than Mr. Frenchie, director of Alien: Resurrection. I hope he doesn't prove me wrong, though.
Oh my god, that little behind-the-scenes clip rocked. This is gonna rock. I've really got to try to not watch the trailer.. don't let me, everyone. Don't let me!
