That is old rule was proven to be a falsehood since Alien 3, The Crow, Ringu etc. (Where the protagonist is killed in the series)

Otherwise though, classic characters that are too tough to kill get sequels/series.
(Thats why the Van Zan trilogy was never made.)

It's not always the case but most of the time is the case as in alien and aliens 2 as well. Van Zan hunted and killed dragons we only get to see the dragon age come to an end I am sure they could make plenty of must see films telling about his past exploits.

It is ....madness to think that Zan could stand a chance against McClane in a H2H takedown fest.

Shooting harpoons at dragons and fighting random malnourished civililians does not put him in McClane's league. McClane has hands like steel fricken vices. I don't think Zan's headbutt would do crap either.

i don't understand Quan's logic here. Zan technically beat Quinn in a little scrap, and all of a sudden he's unbeatable, but when McClane technically beat Maggie Q, all of a sudden those feats don't count.... because she's a woman? Those are some harsh debating tactics, sir.

No it is McClane who beats on alpha men.
His massive kill record speaks for itself.
And he bested Ninjachick by knocking her out, and then having to resort to killing her when she recovered and decided to carry on harassing McClane with her kung fu shit.

Whereas Zan was unable to damage the village ladyboy then was dragon dump. End/Credits.
