And maybe..just maybe when the audience, the viewer, the reader starts asking too many questions...it simply comes down to the fact that the story wasn't well-written or thought out properly in the first place.
Every time a poster thinks they have the obvious answer to one "plot hole" it just seems to create 3 more nagging questions about the storyline.
[SPOILER - highlight to read]: ...so Batman could have time to climb out of the hole, pour gasoline on that bridge, and save the day without much thought (or logic) needed to be put into the villain's scheme. Yes, I see your point now.

whatever.. this is asinine.. i'm done with this thread.. it is true that TDK is better than TDKR because joker is the quintessential batman villian and what ledger did to him was nothing short of amazing.. with that being said, TDKR was a perfect conclusion to the trilogy, plot holes and all.. what ledger did to the joker, hardy did to bane.. the film has its flaws, but on top of it all, i didn't give a f*ck to whatever nitpicking sh!t that seems to be happening here..i ENJOYED the film.. i suspended my disbelief for about 3 hours and stuffed my face silly with popcorn.. i"m out..
And if you actually read the article with just as much attention as you paid to the movie....you'd notice the added scenes have nothing to do with explaining the already existing plot holes.
"Movie sewers come across as prime real estate. They have considerable head-room, huge cathedral like spaces, clean running water & mood lighting that really helps create a pleasant ambience.
No one ever needs rubber gloves, protective clothing or wellies.
When I think sewer, I think wet, contaminated confined spaces full of bum-dumps & bacteria."
"Holy SH*T! Batman's EMP gun is unbelievable! Not only can it deliver an electromagnetic pulse that's able to disrupt electronic equipment but it can also snuff out the sun!
This pursuit started in broad daylight & now it's midnight! Take that Jesus!"
"I've now spent most of this movie constantly asking myself how Bane eats & drinks. To shut me up, my brain tells me that some of his tubes double up as bendy straws."
-TOKYOSEXWHALE.
"I can suspend disbelief & accept a man can have his broken back fixed via a punch to the vertebrae, an old rope & some push-ups.
I'll even accept that 300 cops could get trapped in a sewerage system for 3 months only to emerge as fresh as daisies.
But what I will not accept is a world where the Federal Government of The United States Of America would refuse to take down a dictatorship that has the capability to harbour WMD's...just because of a lack of bridges."

But, no, if those plotholes are covered up, that would be awesome. Many of my complaints come from the movie seemingly cutting out of important events which creates the plotholes.
In order of presentation:
*Shows Batman get a shot that regenerates the cartilage in his knees and shoulders*
*Shows Batman getting lots of food to workout and stay healthy in the Hole*
*Shows video montage of Batman using the network of Ninja assassins buddies (who magically don't hate him after the shit he did in Begins) to make it on an airplane that flies back to the US right after he gets out of the holes*
*Activates the Bat from a remote keypad that uses the auto-pilot he programmed.*
*Does some sleuthing around Gotham to find out what is going on in Gotham.*
*Finds Bane's HQ and the "court" system while sleuthing*
*Finds Catwoman's hangout*
*Shows Batman making the bat symbol with a press of a button in his Bat..explaining why it didn't take him forever to make the bat symbol*
*Right after the above, it shows Batman throw out a flare for the Commissioner*
*Shows Batman, right before getting to the truck with the bomb, program a flight path with autopilot, out to the ocean, showing that Batman is the smart forward thinking genius that he is in the comics*
*Shows a proper cut of the final bomb scene where Batman jumps out of his Bat and jumps into another Bat right before pressing the autopilot in the Bat carrying the bomb*
*Shows Batman figuring out which random Cafe it was that Alfred goes to*
Do you guys realize if they fixed all of those problems I mention, above...the movie would have been significantly better? Maybe they were cut out for time? Maybe the extended cut will be awesome by explaining those plotholes. If so, I will amend my score and give the extended cut a higher rating.

My sentiments exactly! I mean for a 3 hour long movie I would've preferred the script writers focussing on fixing/eliminating said-plot holes than adding unnecessary scenes with orphan kids or Gordon facing off with Deputy Foley (Modine) at his house.Or the plight of Wayne Industry Board members. Those scenes had nothing to do with Batman or the flow of the story.
Hell yeah...it didn't have to be a doctor. It could've been Lucius Fox working on some kind of "shot" for the past 8 years to alleviate the damage & pain to Bruce's body.
And Batman in the hole...we could've seen Bruce in various stages of meditation or delirious dreams of his mother & father telling him not to give up...countering Bane's taunts of whether it would be his body or mind that would be broken first.
If it makes you feel any better, he had one vision of Ras making fun of him. Oh and I want a better explanation for Talia's motives along with an answer to the knee and autopilot problems as stated above.
Yeah I'm starting to think that whole "No Autopilot" was written to stop Bruce using The Bat to get back to Gotham...which is a shame.
I mean it would've taken less than a 3O second scene to show Bruce desperately calling Fox up to send the Bat to his co-ordinates...a great scene with Bruce still weakened from pain & malnourished almost begging for Fox for help.
How many times in comics have we seen the Batmobile charge into the cave on autopilot....the canopy opens to a badly beaten & semi unconscious Batman with Alfred rushing to his side.
