Great manga. It is one of the ones I enjoy more than most of the other "most popular ones".
It has better writing and the fighting is great. The fights are like chess matches (similar to Naruto). There are some strong "WTF PWNED" moments in the manga, too. I enjoy those. I like it when a really strong guy just beats the crap out of everyone. However, they main characters are certainly hard-pressed in their fights.
It manages to turn the Edo Era martial arts into something modern and superhuman.
