I have my new computer hooked up to my TV and PC monitor, it's really cool. Still need to get a wired Xbox 360 controller so I can use it to play games on my TV, but I highly recommend it.

You can get a wireless adapter and download a program that lets you fully customize your controller for the PC game. It's what I use to play TOR with my wireless xbox controller.
Got an hdmi cord? It's as easy as hooking up one device to the other. The same goes with a pc monitor.
With my graphics card I can be on the internet on my pc monitor and watch a movie using that same pc/gfx card on my "55 screen on the other side my living room simultaneously via a (long) hdmi cord.

Oh yeah, I already have a crappy PC running linux connected to my TV, for shows and movies. So that wouldn't be the issue really. Just not fully decided yet whether I want to get a Gaming PC again.
Also waiting some more to see whether there'll be a "Steam Box" that might fit what I want.
Same here. I have my gaming pc hooked up to my 40 inches 1080p tv and the xbox is all hooked up and its basically all the entertainment media I will ever want. My bed is close to the monitor to boot. Downside is I can't really use m/k but I care not since I just suck with it and use an emulator to play with the dualshock 3

Two things to note: Red-ringing was a major problem early in the 360's life, and it's only been recently that the console has shown its age (try playing Halo 4 on Shatter with four screens--forget about it)

You seem a bit bitter, friend. Do you have shares in MS or something? No matter what the facts may be, the court of public opinion has been hard on the Xbox One, and for good reason. It seems as though MS is determined to alienate a sizeable chunk of it's consumer base with features that many gamers, hardcore and casual alike, don't give a shit about. Well, at least it will play Halo and Gears of War. Yay... And yeah, believe it or not, millions of people around the world don't have reliable Internet connections. So just because you and Adam Orth have uninterrupted, high speed internet, doesn't mean the rest of the world does.

True. I'm not doubting it but you can't say that PC gaming is perfect. It is not perfect. It's far from perfect. Fist mentions 360 RRoD but fails to mention that multiple components can fail in a PC. Especially if you get less than quality parts. He also mentions that you need to take care of your PC....there is a lot pro and cons for both consoles and PC's.
They both do different things and it's worth having both.
The XBOX One needs an Internet connection. It doesn't need uninterrupted Internet connection.
As well, I don't understand why people ***** about MS about their supposedly shitty Internet connection when in fact, they should be bitching to their ISP who is giving them that shitty connection.

I agree. Personally I am considering upgrading my non-gaming PC that is currently connected to my TV to a gaming PC. I would still get a console as well (from what I know so far I assume it will be the Xbox One)
I also am not bothered by needing an Internet connection, however I realize I am lucky having a rather good one, and I know some people won't have one at all. In practice I am not sure whether it will make a meaningful difference in sales.
I also believe a lot of what I read in comments is mostly gamers being a very negative and hard to please bunch, and I don't think that the current negativity will have much of an impact in the long run. But Microsoft has been terrible and PR and consumer communication, not just with the Xbox but with almost all of its recent launches (Surface, Windows 8/RT, Office 365, Outlook.com, Skype/Live Messenger merge)
