You mean Annie? Yeah they made it really obvious (I'm assuming you're being sarcastic). It even looks like the shape of the female titan's nose changed as the episodes went on to resemble Annie more and more.
I'm not sure when we were "supposed" to have figured this out but the opening of this episode pretty much gave it away.
I think the opening ruined the reveal. Next episode should be the good. Does anyone know if season 2 is a go? The anime is very faithful to the manga that it shouldn't take them long to catch up.

I think the episode was great since it seemed to assume the audience had already figured it out, so as the episode went on the tension really built as you could tell shit could go off at any moment. You're just following Annie, wondering when the pins going to drop.
I think the thing that makes the series so tense and thrilling is how vulnerable and helpless the people are sometimes. Eren cocking up when everythings riding on him is frustrating but man if it doesn't make you clench up.
it was handled really well IMO. I mean it wasn't like he was willingly holding back by going into one of these stupid trances/denial chars go. He was chomping on his hand trying to transform, but his emotions held him back. Nothing he could have done about that then...until Armin showed him up.
its for the better. If I'm not mistaken its been confirmed the anime is just on hold. My cousin is an avid manga reader, like...really hardcore. He is the one who got me into reading mangas because I was a bit douchey at first. Anyways he told me he read they confirmed the anime would continue after the manga gets more issues. If what he told me is true then all for the better. I rather they just put the anime on hold so we can keep the pace and quality of the anime strong and not just get stupid filler that will only make people eyeroll and give up on the series.
I can just see how the filler would be now. Some boring ass civil war where nobody important dies. No wait, they'll discover another colony of humans they'll have problems with that would never get mentioned again once the canon material resumes
