Due to dc no doubt. They can't even retain their own actors.

DC is owned/controlled by Time Warner, but don't let facts get in the way of your "I hate DC because I'm currently bandwagonboying it with Marvel" rants smile

I know so the same thing really. I won't be saying Disney with every marvel related comment as well when it comes to the shared universe.

Well both Wonder Woman & Shazam have their backgrounds steeped in mythology so there's enough basis for people NOT to point out the similarities to Superman.

And I do think it's stupid for people to also think that Nolan set the standard for a darker DC universe. He "humanised" Batman too much thus making it too far fetched for superheroes to be credible.

I got the feeling that the theatre shootings really affected Bale & was a major decision factor to turn down future Batman roles.....
Apparently he went to quite a few funerals of those who were killed.

laughing out loud

Let me add to my original post, even though D.C. tends to overly favor theses two franchises, superman and Batman, D.C. has made some attempts to bring other characters in the spotlight. Wonder woman was one, unfortunately the pilot episode bombed before it made it to tv. Green lantern tanked pretty bad, the watchmen did decent and a few others which don't come to mind atm.

I think D.C. has just had extremely bad luck with theses new franchises. I still think marvel has hit it on the mark at least in the theaters where I live. Marvel branches out to all age types. And their movies appeal to overseas fans a lot more then D.C. does. And that is where the money is not here in the U.S.

I firmly believe D.C. does tends to favor bats and supes more then marvel favors any particular hero, but D.C. has made SOME effort to bring other heros to life just not to the extent marvel has.

Hopefully that will change. I was seriously pissed when the plug was pulled on the shazam movie.

I think the idea to do Shazam movie would have been rather interesting and am bored to death with Superman/Batman reboots.

The problem I always had with Marvel was that the stories always tended to be love-triangles between the characters OR defending the earth against yet another alien invasion. At least DC never had the soap-opera dramas the X-Men & FF always seemed to have when they weren't fighting aliens.

I quickly got tired of watching the Logan,Jean & Cyclops angst unfold...something I'm sure DC won't have Bruce & Clark pining over Diana.

Also DC broke the standard alien invasion/villain taking over the world scenario by introducing mythical characters, dealing with angels & demons, Heaven & Hell...thus characters like Shazam, WW & Constantine could be achievable.

Like Marvel didn't have characters dealing with mythical characters, dealing with angels & demons etc

as for the love triangles and such, you might have not like them but personally it made the character's alot more real.

Xmen and FF are not Marvel Studios. Marvel/Disney has been pretty consistent in the good quality of its films. DC/Warner Bros not so much.

Iron Man and The Avengers were good. The rest were forgettable and some were downright crap (IM2).

The difference is that Marvel has their own film studio. DC does not, and therefore has to rely completely on WB for film productions.

It is my opinion. So far the only DC movies I've really enjoyedwere the Dark Knight movies and Watchmen. And contrary to popular opinion, I've enjoyed just about every marvel movie, including IM2 and IM3.

Watchmen was a fantastic movie thumb up

Shame about it not being a big financial success. Big shame.

No, the difference is marvel has competent people making the decisions whereas dc doesn't.
