Temporarily? If IM hadn't taken out the mothership, Hulk wouldn't have been able to get out of that predicament on his own. He was bombarded by Chitauri, was unable to extricate himself or fight back, and later on when the chitauri auto-died then we seem him groggy and bleeding.

No. We see Hulk killing chitauri and beating on loki before the mothership is destroyed and after his "overwhelmed by laser fire" episode. Hulk also saves Iron Man's life after he destroys the mothership. You're remembering the scene wrong.

Hulk got out of his predicament on his own and before the chitauri auto-died

Just re-watched the scene. Looks like we both remembered wrong. Hulk beats on Loki first before he gets ganged up on by the chitauri. Then just before the mothership explodes (as IM is flying the missile) we see Hulk getting up from a pile of rubble looking dazed and bleeding.

So... looks like the chitauri just left Hulk alone, probably thought he was dead. However, Hulk did not get out of his predicament on his own. The chitauri left him alone. He was unable to beat back the chitauri nor was he able to power-out of his predicament.

Thor never had any such worries, because Thor is superior.

Thor wins.

Thor is NOT holding back, and is going full force.
Hulk is extremely pissed off, he thinks Thor killed Betty Ross
Fight takes place in city without civilians

Round 1: Thor gets Mjolnir (cant use lightning)
Round 2: Thor doesn't get Mjolnir

Thor's hammer didn't help him much in the first fight, and the second fight ends worse then the first.

I agree; even holding back, Thor was able to give an out of control Hulk a good fight.

He actually didn't take out any aliens or Loki after getting battered by that laser barrage.

Getting up from that wreckage was the last thing he did before saving IM.

Your perspective is rather unique and speculators at best.

Hulk was definitely getting the better of him. No doubt about it.

I've posted tons of evidence to show that Thor was weakened during the events of The Avengers, that he's holding back, and that in a neutral setting he'd make mincemeat out of Hulk. Here, you can do the same for yourself:

Answer yes or no to the following -

  • Did Thor use his flying?
  • Did Thor do any running strikes or flying strikes?
  • Did Thor use his lightning, either to strike Hulk or to charge his hammer?
  • Did Thor spin his hammer for momentum in a strike?
  • Did Thor display any of the offensive abilities he did in both of his movies, up to and including all of the above?
  • Was Thor explicitly weakened by his unusual descent to Earth, both before the events of the film and later from the carrier?
  • Did Thor still do better than Hulk anyways when fighting the chitauri, because he was able to start doing stuff above?

Answer Key:
[SPOILER - highlight to read]:
1. No
2. No
3. No
4. No
5. No
6. Yes
7. Yes

Your debate method is solid.

"HURR THORGASM" is effective at proving your assertions, in the same way tin foil protects you against the vacuum of space.

Why, because he threw him just before the fight got broken up?

Nah, Thor was clearly winning on points, and without even giving putting half his powers into the fight.

Points isn't winning a real fight. Hulk was getting the better of him with more impactful blows and wasn't dodging gunfire in the process. Everyone was attacking the hulk.
