Honestly, their team just isn't that great. Even Neymar, their golden boy, is overrated and a tad petulant to go along with it.

Seeing them play against Korea, among the weakest teams in the tournament (only Honduras and Iran were less impressive) and struggle for most of the game (I understand they were playing man down for almost half of it--doesn't excuse their slow start when they had eleven men) fills me with confidence.

And, hey, if Belgium does win it's still not a total loss for me. At least then the people will be in a better mood when I visit.

Belgium are just like the dutch: Really good individual players, but you can never know if they're going to gel as a team.

So far, Holland have done so, but this wouldn't be the first major tournament where they've started strong and then floundered.

Belgium has been a team almost completely reliant on its bench.

They do nothing for the first half, and then in the second half they get their guys off the bench and suddenly they find a sense of purpose and resolve to score and make big plays.

If America can account for this, gain a lead early, and then shut down the Belgian substitutes as they shut down Ronaldo for most of the Portugal match, they have a good chance of knocking Belgium out.

Personally I think Iran was ok, they were playing a defensive game that some people can't tolerate, but they had a game plan... Unlike Honduras that was just clueless.

I realize now that France and Germany are likely to face off in quarters, so I'm looking forward to that matchup.

Gotta feel bad for Chile. That last shot was so close.

Go, Colombia!

I hope to see them defeat Brazil 3-2 or 3-1.

Seeing people like Muller and Rodriguez play, it makes you wonder if we might see less attention on powerful but moody and petulant players like Suarez, Pepe, and Balotelli, players who seem to be as much liabilities as they are assets.

Netherlands played like bums in the first half.

I had always hoped that Netherlands would go through. They're usually one of my favourite teams, and I think that, on the whole, they're a better team than Mexico.

As much as I think Marquez is a dirty bastard, though, I wouldn't have given that as a penalty.

Agree completely. Tough loss for Mexico.

To be fair, they robbed the Netherlands of a legitimate penalty shot in the first half, so I see it as evening the scales.

So far two of the teams I don't like so much have been eliminated (Mexico, Uruguay), along with one team I do like (Chile). Pretty good so far. I'm neutral toward Brazil, Argentina, Switzerland, Algeria, Nigeria, and Costa Rica, I dislike Greece, and I like USA, Belgium, Colombia, France, Germany, and Netherlands.

I will be severely disappointed if the final doesn't feature Colombia, Germany, or Netherlands.

In the first half, both could have had a penalty, so not so sure it was even lol

Greece deserved to lose. They were playing man up and had a few of the most beautiful opportunities of the entire tournament and let them slip through their fingers.

I think I just killed a Greek mosquito. It had a great opportunity to bite me, but it tried to bite me through my sock and the callus of my heel.

Poor Mexico, they proved that randomness rule our world. Netherlands is heavily overrated.

Colombia will go far in the tourney. Costa Rica fought the tide against a disappointing opponent, sadly Chile couldn't replicate the feat.

All in all, I'm ok will the results so far.
