I've always thought the final outcome will be Germany vs Netherlands but after Netherlands performance against Mexico I don't know anymore.
I'll be rooting for Costa Rica

I'm noticing a trend in the Round of 16 of the favored team playing like crap in the first half and then seizing the lead in the second half and dominating. Happened in Netherlands v Mexico and France v Nigeria (both 2-0 games), and might happen in this Germany v Algeria game.

A trolling trend. Giving the underdog a false sense of hope only to take it away in a crushing manner.

Worst game I can remember from Germany.
Trend would have held if Germany hadn't pulled a USA-Portugal and gifted them a late consolation goal.

Amazing saves on both sides but damn Germany was lacking. Trolling continues with Messi making last minute goals, stay tuned.

Did your hate against Mexico took away one of their goals? Netherlands and Mexico were evenly matched and a random event settled the game.
Netherlands and Germany have performed poorly in two matches out of four so far (50% ratio of full on mediocrity). Only Euro bias would place them anywhere near the finals.

Heartbreaking.
USA had so many opportunities at the end that were squandered.
At least it wasn't a total loss--Belgium is my mom's home country and all.
A few observations:
Cameron and Jones and Dempsey were all pretty lackluster.
Beasley was having a great game.
Tim Howard needs a statue, preferably in a busy part of a major city.
Klinsmann has wizard sense when it comes to unproven talent. First Brooks and now Green.

Due to the lack of independence and freedom in the USA, 4th of July shall be renamed Tim Howard's Day for independently taking on the Red Devils while his team continuously failed to redeem his insane skills.
Yeeeehaw!

My favorite Tim Howard tweet:

Jesus had eleven guys he could trust."

It looks like more Germans have come down with flu symptom. I'm betting that they win it all so I'm hoping its not a huge deal.
I'm hoping Colombia takes Brazil out as well.

Shame about Colombia. I wanted them to take it to extra time.
At least James Rodriguez got another goal, so he might still have a shot of being the top scorer or the tournament.
I hope Neymar is out for the tournament. Karma for all the blatant flopping that doesn't even look half convincing.

Well, Neymar is out for the tournament.
Glad it isn't permanent though.
Can't believe the Colombian who hit him didn't get carded.

Wow that ref. The germans are probably hi-5ing each other in their hotel rooms as Silva won't be playing that game too.

Brazil finally waking up! Now the tournament is starting to warm up.
Shame the french team failed to score, but that's the random factor of this game and the team is young enough to prep for future tournaments. Let's see how the rest of the quarters go.

Even without Neymar and Silva, Brazil might still beat Germany, which has been looking sluggish and uncreative since the Ghana game.

No team has looked particularly great or at least not overwhelming this tournament.

Except Colombia, until yesterday.

Maybe, but they didn't really face any competition...
