Just got back from seeing it. Ultimately I'm glad to support more R-rated stuff like this, but it really just felt like a very weak plot dressed up with blood, nudity, and curse words. Dredd was much more interesting in my opinion. And I definitely wouldn't compare this to V For Vendetta due to the lack of plot. I thought it was best when it was subverting movies and making fun of stuff. The opening titles were hilarious and I loved the final scene because it worked well as a piece of sketch comedy.
Pros:
Blood, nudity, curse words
Character chemistry
T!ts
Some of the humor works
Morena Baccarin
Makes fun of other comicbook superhero movies
Cons:
Very little plot
Some of the humor was trying too hard
[SPOILER - highlight to read]: The side plot with the taxi driver was never tied up, was it? Wonder if some stuff about that was cut.
Hardy har, smartass. Riddick has much more going on than first meets the eye and John Wick is far more stylish and better directed than Deadpool, or at least more old-school direction with excellent world building, which makes up for limited plot.
Deadpool relied much too heavily on the use of R-rated subject matter and non-linear storytelling to create interest.
It'd be nice if more people here had a higher maturity level than the average sexually abused 2nd grader.
Look, Deadpool is great for what it is. It's a foul-mouthed piece of comicbook pop entertainment. I get it. But it did come across as a little emotionally inept because of the constant wise cracks. That's the character, I get it. Just not necessarily my favorite thing in the world. Guardians of the Galaxy is still my favorite Marvel flick.
I'll totally be down for sequels, though. It'll be interesting to see what they do with bigger budgets, which they'll obviously get now. Does Morena Baccarin become a bigger character or even another superhero? If so...

That's Amazing. To put it in perspective, it's a much higher opening than big PG-13 Superhero brands like Thor, Superman, Spider-Man and Captain America.
The marketing campaign for this has just killed it. Having posters like that one with the skull and a piece of Poo, was seriously ballsy, but clearly worked.
This did have a great marketing campaign. It was always all over Facebook with silly videos. Everyone I talked to was looking forward to it, so I'm not surprised by the numbers. Ok, maybe a little surprised, but I knew they'd be great numbers.
for some reason i thought she was gonna be Domino... a character i would have been more interested in. But shit, if we're really getting Cable, Domino may be in there anyhow.
