That article seems to have completely forgotten about Jungle Book, which was definitely far more profitable than SS.
It wasn't cancelled because critics said it was bad Lol.
It was cancelled because they spent shit loads of money on it, and the return wasn't that great. What was more worrying for Sony was the massive downward trajectory of the box office for the Spider-Man films. And I don't think the mediocre Dvd sales for TASM2 assured them much either.
WB/DC isn't in that situation at all. Well not yet at least.

Iyo not guess what opinions vary. The criticics across the board generally didn't like the film. I thought it was very forgettable. Continue to champion mediocrity only because it has a DC label. You've never been able to think and process information yourself. Ever.
When did I say you couldn't enjoy it? You can enjoy bad things. There is no problem in that but let's not defend something with obvious flaws as not being that flawed. Suicide Squad did suffer from poor story telling at points, it did suffer from bad editing, and it was an incredibly overcrowded movie. These aren't opinions these are things that really happened. Even the people involved in the movie have said as such talking about having to do massive last second shoots and editing which caused things to get jumbled.
Let's also not pretend box office is the final verdict on film quality or how well it was received. After all Spiderman 3 brought in more money than this film as well.
All I'm saying is don't ignore facts and make stuff up to justify this movie to yourself. It has had a subparr general audience reaction despite making money. It is a flawed movie in multiple regards. These aren't opinions. And I do wish this movie did worse to reflect quality of so we could possibly get better in the future.
If I or others enjoyed it we don't need to justify anything to ourselves.
This doesn't make any sense.
Suicide Squad isn't some huge brand name. And neither is the DCEU a brand on par with the MCU.
If SS is making a lot of money then there must be decent word of mouth. People need to stop being in denial of this.
So are many entertaining movies. But this wasn't some Independence Day Resurgence or Terminator 3,4 e.t.c.
This was an overall entertaining movie. And audiences have obviously given it a thumbs up.
That's understandable if you didn't enjoy it.
I was massively disappointed in both X-Men Apoc, and Star Trek Beyond. Which is why I'm glad audiences didn't spend too much on those movies. The studio had been clearly given the message that they've gone in the wrong direction with those franchises.

People are entitled to their own opinions of course. But Golgo is a DC and WB apologist. So his opinion really doesn't matter. Everyone else though pretty much does.
I was really disappointed with SS. Jared Leto's Joker was by far the worst aspect of it. I didn't like his portrayal, but more importantly, the role the Joker played in it was worthless. He should have been the main villain. But no, a super powerful witch that could have killed all of the SS in seconds decided to be the bad guy. And then she PUNCHED the SS instead of a myriad of ways she could have dispatched them easily. There are so many plot holes and horribly stupid moments in that movie (Viola Davis' character shooting all of her own people was the dumbest thing I've ever seen.) that I lost track. 4/ 10

Also why did Harley's envision her and Joker as a normal everyday boring couple in the dream sequence?
Doesn't make any sense at all.
She fell for him as Joker.
She is supposedly totally "crazy" now from the shock torture and her dive into that liquid substance, etc right?
So any "visions" of wanting a normal life is beyond stupid. That would mean she is just faking being "totally bonkers" and that she is just a normal everyday gal inside.
A real Harley dream sequence would have had her and Joker rampaging through Gotham like kings causing havoc by each others side.

Pretty stupid complaints, TBH. Not surprising, really. Do you even read DC comics? Have you picked up the latest Harley solo series? Margot's character is pretty similar to the latest series.
