I'm waiting on Blair's perspective, but I'm assuming that just like tech is limited by real world rules, so would the Red/Animal Man's power source, which is totally fine by me.
No more switching of powers. You go in with the power you have. The only power change I'd allow is if you've only ever picked one power and it was not a serious pick (ie: Digi).
We really need an updated list of who's in, and with what powers. I started a writeup, and I'm not even sure who I'm prepping for. The most recent one is on page 48, and I'm still listed with Savage, so it's quite dated.
Underlings, get to it!
I'll have you know Vandal Savage was...ok, yeah, it was a joke pick. I just wanted to frustrate everyone as they played with their bigger toys.
I think I considered Plastic Man and...I'm not really sure what deterred me from it. He wasn't in my top 3, and I'm honestly not sure why. Not that I'd rather have him - I wouldn't - but I can't seem to remember what scared me off. Anyway, he'd be a solid pick.
Gender: Male Location: Planning to take over the WORLD!
what do you mean not real world tech....? if the tech doesn't exist in the real world, how can we say it can be created at all and who would have the knowledge? i was under the assumption that we were limited to what exists in the real world. you couldn't build a time machine for instance, or a sentinel, or nullifier, etc....
He's basically just saying that he may be able to figure out more than just irl tech, since he'll be able to synthesize and process a lot of information. The onus will be on him to prove anything beyond what exists in our world, but as long as the materials exist, it's theoretically possible.
But yes, I think it's reasonable to assume that anything which would require knowledge well past anything on our Earth - say, how to create a nullifier - will be well past him. Based on our past convos on this topic, I'm reasonably sure Delph would agree on this.
The same way that travel through a different dimension, mentally controlling your atomic structure, telepathy, or merging with a city are going to be acceptable in a 'real world'. I can't make something from adamantium, but steel and polymers are a go.
Gender: Male Location: Planning to take over the WORLD!
i'm fine with that, but i'm not sure how you could support building anything beyond what already exists is what i'm saying. i mean, even given all the knowledge in the world, if it doesn't exist yet, it CAN'T exist, or it would. even allowing for the synthesis of all available info in the world would only lead to speculatory conclusions at best--science fiction based theories. i'll leave it at that since i don't really know what you're going for. just wanted a little clarification is all.
No, you're misunderstanding me. I'm an adept low herald technopath. I can make comic book devices assuming that the materials for them are available in our real world, I'm NOT limited to real world tech. For example, I CAN make a psi-dampener, or a laser cannon, or an autonomous robot/drone, so long as I'm not claiming to use materials that don't exist on Earth (for example, an adamantium robot/armor versus an osmium or titanium or aerogel polymer robot/armor). I'm capable of achieving the same actions as my counterparts in fiction just like other contestants in this thread are able to traverse dimensions which don't actually exist, be empowered by magic energies which don't really exist, or exhibit any other ability which doesn't actually exist in our real world. I get to use feats from fiction that are within the low herald range and can be performed using the materials in our world, not feats from real world engineering.

Barring a power dampener, which B-Dub outright banned.
I think leo's contention is that you wouldn't have access to the technical information to build such things, even if the correct materials were present. Unless Jeffries powers work on a more metaphoric level.
Like, if he says "make me a psi-blocker" and the materials just come together, there's no refuting that. But if you need to understand the engineering behind a psi-blocker, it's a different beast, because the plans for it are neither attainable in RL databases, nor in your own mind.
I'm happy leaving such things to the judges. As far as I'm concerned, it's possible, and within the limits of your powers. But unlikely, given the learning curve and dearth of RL info on such things.
Yeah, that's how the rules came across, suspension of disbelief for your chosen power, nothing else, ie. Phasers, mind control machines, warp drive, etc...
Actually, I would, as B-Dub specified that we get the passive innate traits which allow for us to utilize our abilities. In my case, which is why I made this specific choice, it's enhanced cognitive abilities, the abililty to assemble complex machinery almost instantly with the power of my mind, and the ability to perceive and create complex designs near instantly, which I can demonstrate by posting scans of technopaths doing as such, just as you can post a scan of merging with and controlling a city despite having never done so in real life.
Unless you guys are all going to demonstrate real world experience with superpowers that would allow you to use your powers.
Which gesture, thought, or exertion of real world will and experiences allow a human being to be adept with bonding with and manipulating cities, for example, or to manipulate magnetic and/or gravimetric fields, or dimensional apetures?
