If they do the Borg it should somehow involve the Next Gen crew IMO. That was their epic villain/story, and I didn't like it when even Voyager tried to take that from them.
I think a big war with the Klingons can be exciting enough though.

Honestly, my preference would be either the Klingons or the Romulans. Getting really tired of them constantly bringing in new species without using the rich variety that already exists within Trek.

Romulans were the villains of the first film.
I'd like Klingons myself though. That scene with Klingons in Into Darkness was awesome, some really cool design work that the television series just can't match.

A Romulan in a modified ship, not the Romulan empire. Big difference.

Well you're complaint was about them creating new aliens species rather than using existing ones...

Either one would be great (especially with them going back to Romulans having Vulcan type strength).
But I do feel the Klingons war has been built up in the first 2 films, so needs to go somewhere.

The Romulans in 09 weren't even the Romulans of the time either, so I don't see the issue.

I'd be fine with that.

If you misworded what you wanted, no problem. I'm merely pointing out that they aren't just creating new aliens to serve as villains. In fact, this is really the first film to do so. Otherwise, they've drawn on the past before this.

I wasn't speaking about villains specifically, but alien races in general. So no, not misworded. They go out of their way to create aliens, but we barely see andorians, tellarites, rigellians etc.

Why not a federation, Romulan, klingon team up to stop the Borg. Hell why not even awaken Khan to go after the Borg Queen.

No, it was misworded. As I pointed out they’ve already had the Romulans as villains. That they are from the future or not part of the Empire is irrelevant as the discussion was about alien species not alien gov’ts.

How was it misworded? I was speaking about aliens as groups. You limiting that to species doesn't mean I was.
"The Romulans" generally means the Star Empire when talking about Star Trek.

That sounds fantastic. They all got to put aside differences to fight a greater threat. Could be sort of like mass effect with Shepard uniting the galaxy against reapers, except this time with the Borg trying to assimilate everyone.

That could work, just make it several Borg cubes instead of one. No more super ships of doom.

They've not even been at war with the Klingons yet, so I don't think that'd really have the desired effect of "teaming up with your enemy to battle the bigger threat."

Yeah, even in the prime universe it was always more of a cold war between them too. They'd need to make a bigger statement before doing the whole "enemy of my enemy" thing imo.

So Trek 5 can be the Klingon war/resolution and Trek 6 can be the Borg

Sure, why not. Though that would mean a far bit of time between them to establish at least something of a brutal conflict.

Bring the Borg on. My idea would be amazing. Those who doubt it are just lying to themselves.
