Their organs may be equivalent, but they do not breathe anywhere near the same in efficiency.
Even a human can last up to a couple of minutes in space, not just seconds.
No, Goku actually didn't have that huge a problem with being underwater against Frieza, especially compared to a normal person. He was grunting and kia'ing just as he would on land, with every strike he was doing, and he was doing so with gritted teeth. Meaning he was taking in water in his lungs. He puffed his cheeks up a couple of times to indicate held breath, but even as he was flying up out of the water, he did so with his teeth gritted. Meaning water entering his mouth. He was gasping for a few seconds after he got out, but...so was Frieza. Frieza gave as good as he got underwater.
Trying to breath in space and underwater are not equivalent.
In space if you try to hold your breath, you will actually die *faster*. Your lungs will burst.
I wish it was calculable, but like most things in DB, it gives no parameters.
We already know they are FTL through at the very least Whis' staff. And without it too, since Beerus flew to that planet to get his dinosaur meat on his own. (though again, it doesn't say how far away the planet is to my recollection)
Whis' staff took them 26 minutes and change to get to King Kai's planet, which again, the distance is not given to us.
I finally hope they give us some numbers. Preferably how many punches Toriyama is having them throw per second. Or how long they perceive a second to be.
At one point, Beerus says 2 minutes and 20 seconds felt like 220 years to him, but the way he said it, it was a joke about his impatience, and its a literal play on the number units he is given.
edit: He means the movement is literally called Trans-teleportation or something, from Whis' own words.
So yeah, getting to Kaioshin's planet in a matter of seconds is a massively FTL feat... Kaioshin even said: "I would have never imagined they'd come all the way out here"--implying that they were really far away beforehand.
It also seems as though Champa fears Beerus--so Beerus is likely more powerful(I'd guess Whis is > the female attendant as well.)
Meh, we'll see if the DBS anime keeps those scenes canon...

In your scan it also tells us that they are on the other side of the Universe. Pretty sure Goku is going to become faster than them. He will probably defeat Champa by himself.
He's probably weaker than Beerus, but I doubt he's 'weak' in the conventional sense--he's probably still more powerful than most anything we've seen in Z.
The new films come straight from Toriyama himself, whereas the new manga does not. So the ranking system would go:
DBS > Yo!/BoG/RoF > new manga.
Goku's flight speed will likely never rival theirs; and it doesn't need to. That's why he has IT.

I wouldn't say the new manga can retcon the films. As I mentioned: Toyotaro(the same guy who wrote Dragon Ball AF) writes the new manga these days, not Toriyama. And ultimately, only Toriyama's work can retcon Toriyama's work.
IOW, if the new manga makes any major alterations/retcons to the films, they shouldn't be regarded as canon until DBS(which is written by Toriyama himself) confirms the same. Imo.

Toriyama is personally writing the key components of DBS, but also giving his team the creative freedom to expand on other areas. When Beerus fought that 4-armed creature a few episodes back, for example, Toriyama just gave his team a general idea of what he wanted, and allowed them to fill in the blanks from there. He still oversees DBS as a whole, though.
Yeah Toyotaro is writing/penciling the Super manga. Toriyama gave him a general idea of where the story is going, but Toyotaro is filling in the gaps on his own.

I watched episode 6 and 7, and I've come to the conclusion that I absolutely despise Fat Buu.
He is a petty, selfish, oafish, mean-spirited, bully-ish, low-iq idiot.
With the way he acted against Beerus simply being mad at being denied pudding, I absolutely get the sense that he could fly off the handle, and destroy the Earth in an oafish tantrum. He seems one step away from being a villain at any time. His temper showing against Hercule not having anything to eat at the moment, while he was busy with the press, was also disturbing.
And him saying I can eat all the pudding because he is strong was just a disgusting thing to hear. Bully logic.
I took great joy in seeing him get his ass slapped down. (Almost as much as I enjoy seeing Ben Grimm get annihilated). But I just wish Beerus put more effort into making him feel pain. It wasn't painful looking enough, mostly just humiliating.
Hopefully Fat Buu gets killed and doesn't get brought back. He is useless weight at this point, an eye-sore, and dangerous.
