Yeah, trying to rationalize it with the SSB ki control or something like that can only take you so far before the show does something else crazy. Just try to enjoy it for what it is.
They have been contradicting themselves though. Vegeta said that him and Goku couldn't get stronger in their blue form; they are at their limit. This is incorrect since we have witness ourselves them becoming far more powerful. This show is starting to piss me off.
Toriyama himself basically said not too long ago (prior to this arc) that it doesn't matter what they even do now because of how huge Dragon Ball's become again, which to me is kinda their way of saying they don't have to give much a shit about consistency or things like that since they'll make good money off of Super regardless and the rabid fans out there will eat whatever they dish out. I don't want to paint this show as a cynical cashgrab, but that's sadly what it's looking more like now in some ways.
One thing I really like about this arc is the opening song. I don't think I've ever replayed an OP song more than I have with this one. I just hope the actual episodes live up to the hype it creates.
When I think about Skinny buu gains, it reminds me of Gotenks ssj3 fighting copy base Vegeta, who Goku was tied with in his base. So does that mean skinny buu is stronger than Super buu and Gotenks?
And do you guys agree with this power scaling? I found on another forum.
Got around to reading the manga, while it's extremely slow compared to the show, at least it's of good quality with things actually being explained in a way that tries to make sense.
I don't like some of the changes, like Black being weaksauce, but aside from that there's no denying the manga writes & explains things better. I guess take the best or coolest aspects of both worlds and make that your head-canon...

The manga character's power levels are all weaker than the anime counterparts. But it's kinda always been that way, just with Super its a lot easier to notice.
