Only disappointment is the color. Should have made him black.
Everyone knows he's really the token black guy anyways.

Interesting reactions from Whis and Beerus. Kind of implies he's an actual threat even to them (Or why would Whis sweat Broly destroying their planet when he could just stop him?)

Turns out Dr Hedo (top middle) who created Cell Max was mostly inspired by Jaguar (a scientist from the Bio Broly film at the bottom middle) in design.
I guess Maloja (bottom left) is comparable enough to Magenta (top left) too.
Aside from generic monsters themselves, further proof that Super Hero is just Bio Broly 2.0. Gamma 1 and 2 are the only things in the film remotely original.
I meant original in design appearance. You have to admit the Gammas dont look anything like the androids from before, although their designs I did find more generic than most of the androids.
Something else about the Gamma I didnt really think about until I heard someone talking about it, was the guns or blasters they wielded. Guessing it was a design choice, but I cant think why else the they would have those, since youd think they would just be able to produce energy blasts from their own two hands.
Rehashing old movies that were a success is one thing, but why Bio-Broly, out of all options?
The worst part of Bio-Broly film was the lameness of the main villain being a sad caricature of his former self and Cell Max surely wasn't any improvement, was he?
I guess for me it's only now (well, a year or so at this point anyway) getting to experience the annoyance of my favorite Dragon Ball villain having a blatant ripoff, since Cell didn't have one originally. I can at least be glad Cell Max isn't popular; he just kind of generically exists, though I'd ideally want him to be hated more than he is.
The thing is, while like some Frieza fans aren't fond of say Cooler, can at least say he's a character, regardless of continuity. A Cell knockoff with some kind of character or decent design would've made me forgiving in comparison, but the editors could not keep Toriyama's evil in check this time, so we got a discount version of what was already Cell's worst form and was further removed from Cell himself with being more its own thing; lacking the regeneration, techniques, etc of the original.
Even Bio-Broly had more in common with Broly as pointed out, despite being a shit version of the legendary super saiyan everyone knows and loves. Same with Lord Slug in comparison to King Piccolo (he was mostly a ripoff of KP), and Slug was one of the shittiest known movie villains also.
Super Hero was basically just a comic book, where two heroes fight each other because of random misconception and then team up to fight a villain that means nothing. That's all I get from Cell Max. Though, maybe the manga will expand on Cell Max, when a movie that had to be cut to a certain length couldn't. Maybe he won't just be a kaiju monster.

Finally found the proper translation for this part...!

It would've been one thing if Gohan actually saw Piccolo die from getting thrashed like he did with 16 getting head stomped, but Piccolo just got up a minute later after the beating from Cell Max, completely okay.
Super Hero fans: But he thought Piccolo was dead, it's the same thing!
Not only was it a poor buildup version of how Gohan originally got SSJ2, but even DBS anime Trunks and his SSJ Rage form felt like less of an asspull in hindsight, I would argue.
The main thing that still keeps me from liking the new Piccolo is the fact he had to wish for that power/potential of his. New forms are meaningless if the characters didn't do anything to earn them, but people turn a blind eye to it because "finally something that isn't Goku and Vegeta!".
I mean, it's kinda worse with Piccolo, cause he didn't even wish for a new form. He just wished for his power to be unlocked, like Krillin and Gohan had theirs. And Shenron was just like sure, and because you're Kami.. have extra to it.
But with Gohan it can be not just Piccolo 'dying' that unleashed the beast, but also realizing he's not strong enough to protect his child, who is there. He's the only one left, his father isn't coming to save them, and Piccolo is down.

The already existing Mystic Gohan powering up a Special Beam Cannon against a weakened Cell Max whose held down by Piccolo would have still been enough to finish the job tbh. Try as I might, did not really see a necessity for Beast Gohan.
I guess it was worse with Piccolo, yeah, so can agree otherwise.
So Freeza's been to HFIL a few times now. He knows the only reason powerful villians are controlled is because they don't have a body when they cross over.
Why hasn't he or anyone else come up with a way to take over HFIL? Should be as easy as using the Dragon Balls to send a powerful flunky over and kick King Yemma out, he's weaker then King Kai.

They can't get to Hell, if they get to hell than can't come back. And They still wouldn't have the abilities to do anything with the realm of the dead even if they 'overthrew' Yemma.

Dragon Balls can bring people back, it should be able to send them there as well, with a full body.
Overthrowing Yemma means they could set it up so any time they died, they get a body and access to their full powers. Then they could just self resurrect (Baba Yaga does it, only limited by Yemma's rules. So Freeza can change the rules if he took over)
They could be effectively immortal, without any of the downsides. Death becomes a door way; divine punishment is broken, and Goku and the rest are helpless against Frreza if they die without a body to empower them. While death for Freeza simply means a trip back home, a fresh body, and more scheming.
Think the hame Hades, life for Freeza becomes what it is for Zagreus. While ruling like his father Hades.
Even Gods of Destruction would be at Freeza's mercy, because they die. Beerus will eventually die, and his spirit will be at Freeza, Lord of Hell's, mercy.

But just getting rid of Yenma doesn't give them that power. And the only dragon that would have the power to make them the new Yenma would be the Super Dragon Balls, which Freeza cannot use.
