no really? (detect sarcasm here) what i was saying was that i don't think that unless the nuclear radiation ate away completely at the atmosphere, there would still be oxygen on earth, especially since among the few life forms able to survive nuclear winter being the air breathing cockroaches, plus the fact that the oceans produce more of our breathable oxygen than all the plants on earth.
I think he meant our SKY/Atmosphere was 'blacked out'. Believe me, if our Sun was destroyed then there would be no orbit around it - as a matter of fact, there would be no Earth at all as the Sun's explosion would probably take out the whole Solar System.
Hehe, no probs m8. I usually leave a thread alone for a while, come back to it and have a fresh view on the subject. Sometimes it helps...other times...well :P
-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-POSSIBLE SPOILERS ON REVOLUTIONS (BIG ONES)-\-
HIGHLIGHT TO READ
I've read somewhere a little summary of M3. Note that I don't know if this is true but the guy on the forum said the sorce is reliable.
The name revolutions says it all. There are several revolutions in this film. First of all and this is HUGE Neo is NOT the one. The one is THE KID, that kid that appears in Kid's story in the Animatrix. And you were all guessing who is going to die? not any more.......... it's going to be Trin. There are a lot of other things but I don't have time or space to tell you all the details.I've read somewhere a little summary of M3. the sun is a relatively small star, it cannot supernova (explode). it will becom a red giant then red super giant, then a blue supergiant, then a blue giant, then a white dwarf (approximately the size of earth) the n it will be a neutron star. stars like sirius supernova. not our sun
Our Sun CAN explode especially if it was US blowing it up.
But this is what will more than likely happen when our Sun dies:
The Sun appears to have been active for 4.6 billion years and has enough fuel to go on for another five billion years or so. At the end of its life, the Sun will start to fuse helium into heavier elements and begin to swell up, ultimately growing so large that it will swallow the Earth. After a billion years as a red giant, it will suddenly collapse into a white dwarf -- the final end product of a star like ours. It may take a trillion years to cool off completely.
how would you want to blow up the sun? i think anything we throw at it (nukes etc) would just be absorbed by it, without even slightly having effect on it?
