I personally see Vitiate getting wrapped up in the two or three updates coming up, if Vitiate was killed by Valkorion that'd be very interesting.
One of the best theories yet is that they are celestials, his mention of finally building an empire that is perfect makes it highly unlikely to be anything else.
Also this faction is neither Jedi or Sith, light or dark, they follow a 'higher path'. This would all certainly explain Valkorion being an immortal all-powerful Emperor stronger than even Vitiate.
This came to my mind as well but I feel like the Celestials would be a lot less materialistic and more force aligned. Also, these guys are too evil imo. This looks like just another human/humanoid oriented civilization.
Celestials are an empty bag though, we know they were not just some combined race, there were groups that may or may not have conflicted with one another. Furthermore they don't seem to be good or evil, they are just powerful.
Another reason it can't be Vitiate is that Valkorion wants to build a galaxy wide empire, not destroy the galaxy.
I am calling it now, Valkorion is some form of celestial, from building a series of empires to being immortal/all-powerful and supposedly the ability to make others all-powerful. Too strong to be anything but.
Hmm, yes. Perhaps one(Valkorion) or more Celestials refused to merge with the force and stayed hidden to rebuild an Empire to retake the galaxy. I don't think the ones that merged with the force returned(cause logically, they should be a lot wiser and selfless) but if some of them didn't follow that path, it is most likely that these guys are them.
I'm kinda disappointed that there wasn't a fight at the end. Arc pretty much only won because he was amped via his rage and his brother wasn't expecting that and holding back. Especially when throughout his brother was noted as better, it just seems kind of lackluster tbh.

Valkorion's eyes are seen glowing orange at the end of the trailer, and he doesn't seem very upset his goody goody son died, so I think he is of the dark side. Still that doesn't necessarily rule him out as being a Celestial.
He says so iirc, you can tell him you'll never let him eat the galaxy and he's like "lol i dont even wanna do that no more douchebag i got better plans now".
Yeah, I thought you were referring to that and at first disregarded it cause Vitiate keeps on draining after saying that but I just watched the cutscene again and Vitiate says he is gonna drain that planet anyway right there so that is not related to his quest for galactic annihilation. This is actually an interesting detail that could even be linked to the new expansion.
:ritual gets foiled: Well I don't even wanna drain the galaxy anymore! I've got much better plans now! And I'm not even gonna tell you about them so don't even ask, Baka!
:gets his ass kicked by the protag: I-I let you win! I decided life's more interesting with you in it! EVERYTHING IS PROCEEDING AS I PLANNED NO SETBACKS AT ALL VITIATE OUT!
