Well, my question is more about what the joke is. Since you believe in evolution, and the ant bear is such a beautiful and obvious illustration of evolution, I don't get the punchline really. And someone who doesn't believe in evolution, like Star for example, will take your "joke" and run with it at face value (case in point the banana-hand proof of intelligent design)

It's a joke like I would make about Al Capone being put in jail because the government claimed he didn't pay taxes on untaxable income. It's funny but not very accurate.

Yes. I'm not sure why it has to be an either/or scenario with evolution and creationism. I'm a religious Jew who believes in practical things like science. Only the most extreme aren't like that. It's weird.

But it seems when it comes to Christians in the US about 50% believe in this extreme view. That just seems like such a huge number. And it is very worrying, because you have to reject one of the most well observed scientific theory, really you have to reject reason, at least for this part of your beliefs, to think that Evolution is not real.

I know from previous discussions that some of those who deny historical evolution accept current evolution to some degree.
Why do you think it is so worrying anyways? Most people take some information for granted in their lives, social constructs exist for that very reason.
