So what, it's like Dark Souls with stripped down Devil May Cry gameplay?

No video's going to give you a feel for gameplay. And reviewers are generally good for "curb appeal" ratings and not much else..
Best source of info's always going to be from affectionado's/word of mouth.

Bought it last night. Despite the negative things I've heard about it's simplistic combat system.
Only reason I asked here first, is because I know there's gamers into Platinum Games, Ninja Gaiden, and Souls. You know, good stuff. (As opposed to games like God of War, which I enjoy, but recognize isn't very good mechanically. Not like Ninjw Gaiden Black or Bayonetta).

You can't climb grapple onto a griffin's back as it's flying and stab its wing until it is forced into the ground, crippling it in the process, in DMC.
Anyone here have this on 360? Don't really know anyone to hire pawns from..

This was a highly overlooked game that rivaled dark souls and elder scrolls at the time. It didn't copy other RPGs at the time, it did its own thing and was unique.

And? MS hasn't dropped support yet. I know a lot of people with last gen consoles. (Plenty with older then that, too).Just, no one with Dragon's Dogma.
