Not every film is going to break historical records. Disney didn't anticipate this would beat Force Awakens. It's doing fine. When the movie is an embarrassment at the box office like Justice League that's when it's time to panic.
Nobody thought this was going to beat Force Awakens but I doubt they expected it to drop like this so far.

It is still a massive success and will make a lot of money. You're a drama queen. Justice League is a massive failure. That's when a movie might not even turn a profit. This is Star Wars, boy.

60% was expected, not 69%, that is a BIG difference. In fact as the weekend went on Deadlines projections went down. That is NOT good. True, but this is f*cking STAR WARS!!!! For having such a big lead on those two movies it has fallen way behind after only 10 days.
It's fine. No one really knew how it would fare as we've never had a massive film like this with a similar weekend.
It hadn't fallen "way behind" and will further recover over the next week.
A 30% drop from TFA should have been expected due to how ESB and AotC fared.

Why do you insist on bringing Justice League up? You can't be happy with the 52% RT audience score and the big boxoffice drops.

I loved the film and it'll turn a healthy profit and the saga continues. That's what I care about. I'm bringing up a real film failure like Justice League. No one cares about those shitty characters.

They are very happy with the 92% RT score (the only one anyone has ever cared about before) and the billion+ dollar box office.
Beyond that the Disney Execs obviously loved the film as well giving RJ his own trilogy.

So you're happy with them not caring about the audience?
That's shitty man.

It is making money and the critics loved it. People that are upset about the film are loud. Who cares ? The film is excellent and the critics agree.

To the ass blasted fanboys? Yes.
I'm a strong believer that filmmakers should always make her film they want and not cater to fans.

You can't please all the fans and we see the same jackasses complain when Warner execs meddled with the directors vision to give them what they wanted. You need a clear vision you asshat not some fanboy mongering poop boy.

They didn't adhere to popular fan theories? Blasphemy, fans should control the narrative!

You won't ever be able to please all the fans. This is a miniority of them who think their world ended. Their feelings will float away and they'll be there for the finale. It's as if you don't live in the real world and haven't realized you can't ever please everyone.

And?
That doesn't change anything I said. I'd prefer Disney allow the directors create their own films rather than cater to the fans.

Okay, saw this a second time.
It got MUCH worse on a second viewing. Such a shit film for a Star Wars movie.
It's going down to a 5 out of 10. Making it, by far, the worst Star Wars film.
Honestly, this didn't even feel like a Star Wars movie. It's as if a person, who has no idea what Star Wars is, was handed a sheet of jargon and buzz words specific to Star Wars and was told to write a movie.
Oh, and they were handed a character list from TFA or something.
This is not a Star Wars movie. This is a shitty Sci-Fi movie that had a huge budget but the writing should have been for a "Made for Sci-Fi Channel" movie.
This kind of shit quality script should never make it past Disney's "quality review" committee. This is even low quality for a Disney film of this caliber.
And looking at the numbers, looks like this movie is dropping off, big time, at the box office. The "Star Wars" label is what brought fans to watch it the first week. It's shittiness is what caused it to drop off the second week: not a "tough" second week. Star Wars doesn't experience "Tough Second Weeks" no matter when it is released. RotS is the closest to a "tough second week" but it is definitely the best of the PT and it's numbers show it.
This is definitely a shit film. I'd take the shitty acting and dialogue from the OT over TLJ, easily...Man, I can't believe how shitty this movie is. It's a travesty.

Opinions vary, juggernaut 74. I'll support this with another viewing. Already prepurchased it as well.

I would never see a movie, a second time, that I rated a 7 out of 10. One viewing is enough.
However, Quan convinced me to see it a second time under the promise it gets better. Since I like Quan and think he's good people, I gave it a second chance.
I shouldn't have done that.
Quan, how dare you.
But, yeah, they are having a very rough second week. This may not hit the numbers they predicted earlier in this thread, but many hundreds of millions of dollars.
