The only one with circumstances is Kueller, really. The others are legit.

Luke always fights that way, so you can't throw out his normal mindset for your fan-fiction version of him, kek.

Lumiya was using innocent bystandards and Alema Rar to even contend with Luke, against the Vong he either slaughtered them, was exhausted, or Jaina noted he was holding back, same with those random Sith(when he grew sick of them, he kinda casually slapt them against a wall and held them there), was injured when he fought Brakiss and the latter was noted as "no match", and as for Desann... I dunno, Luke just wanted his old student alive?

Against a threat like Vitiate, with no innocent civillians or family members thrown his way to distraction, no emotional ties or bonds to the Emperor, and of course no good reason to just automatically hold back once he realises the power Vitiate possesses, I see no reason why Luke shouldn't go all-out and murk.
