Yeah, Sauron may have had other mystical powers, but in physical form, at least in the beginning of Fellowship, he was a big, strong (somewhat slow) bruiser. Vader would be the more skilled fighter, more than capable of cutting the ring off Sauron, or he could TK is off, or several other ways he could beat him.
