What do the Time Keepers (ancient malevolent beings living in a well protected fortress at the end of time) hate more than children?
TIME TRAVELING children!
They've captured a host of them (Jeffrey Jones/Voyagers, Evie/Out of this World, Joe, Sam, Fred/Time Warp Trio, Evan Treborn/The Butterfly Effect, Syd, Shelby/Best Friends Whenever, David, Christina, Adam, Quinn, Jessie/Project Almanac among others) from various time lines, to use nefariously for purposes nefarious in nature, because being nefarious is what they DO.
Unfortunately (for the Time Keepers) one of the children they kidnapped is Marty McFly, and Marty doesnt time travel alone!
Doc Brown is going to assemble a team and rescue everyone, because that's what HE does.
The catch?
Unless invited (and no one ever is), no one under 50 can enter the the Time Keeper's Kingdom, much less their fortress.
Challenge accepted!
DOC BROWN-he's putting this geriatric band together.
MARTIN OHARA- amazing powers and an intellect to rival Doc's own. Win win.
GRIZZLY ADAMS-an all around woodsman with an awesome beard, he can guide the team through the rewind woods, where you seem to go backwards as often as forward.
CAPTAIN BARBOSA-once he was promised he could loot the fortress for gold (ancient time bad guys have GOT to have gold, its a universal currency), Barbosa readily agrees to sail the Black Pearl across the daylight savings sea, where the sun & stars shift almost hourly, making travel nigh impossible...for normal men.
JOHN MASON-anyone who can escape Alcatraz, then break back in, then escape it AGAIN, is just the man Doc needs to help free Marty and the rest of the children.
ODIN-there are certain failsafes in the Time Keepers' fortress that will age you instantly. Thats not going to bother the hilking Norse God. Neither will busting many ancient bad guy skulls.
COL. WILLIAM "HAWK" HAWKINS-rescued by Doc at the moment just prior to his death, and given a new lease on life via a 2015(!) rejuvenation treatment, Hawk, who can and has flown everything from prop planes to helicopters to supersonic jets to space shuttles, is going to use one of the Time Keepers' own ships to take the freed children home and back to their own time lines.
After that? He has all the time in the world.

Challenge: The Dirty Dozen
Concept: You're a US Army Major put in charge of a harebrained operation to round up a bunch of dirty criminals, whip them into some kind of cohesive fighting unit and send them behind enemy lines to cause as much chaos and destruction as they can so the real soldiers can launch the actual offensive.
Rules: Well Major, your work is cut out for you, choose 12 criminals from live action movies & TV. They have to have had broken the law in their respective universe and be either actively wanted or an ex-con.
The Twist: None of them can be soldiers or ex-soldiers or have any military or paramilitary training whatsoever.

SOME NOTES
Once I realized you hadnt specified exactly what war i was dealing with, this opened up more.
This is the team that helped OPERATION DESERT STORM be such a success, having thrown things into chaos.
Its full of 90s movie bad guys for the most part, who in this shared reality were all imprisoned prior to the war.
Hans Gruber landed on something soft in this reality at the end of Die Hard, and survived.
Howard Payne has police, not military training, so squeaking by on this one.
Leatherface has been rebooted many times since the original '74 movie, including at least twice in the 90s.
Joe Pesci pulls double duty as Tommy DeVito and wet bandit Harry, and no one notices the resemblance.
