Calm down, sally. I initially thought the US could get out of the accord within 12-24 months, but it seems we're in it until at least 2020.
So this could just be a clever election stunt. Where Trump will use "if you vote for *insert name*, we'll be stuck in the Paris accord!" as one of his many tactics to distract the hayseeds away from his other shortcomings.
I'm plenty calm. I've seen too much bad stuff from the world to get seriously upset about anything that goes on outside my house. I have preferences sure, but overall my response to outside world is typically "meh". If something happens and we stay part of it my internal monologue will be something to the effect of "Figures" and if we stay clear of the deal it'll be something like "Cool". That's the freedom that comes from having zero faith in humanity lol.
Hell I didn't even know how much of a raw deal we were signed up for until about an hour ago when I watched a vid that talked about it.

Yup. And I don't doubt that from the other side of the equation there may be a plus side beyond possible future environmental benifits but as a rule of thumb I oppose virtually anything that'll lead to 400,000 Americans being put out of work. But if you're interested in the vid here you go...

Lol, that guy. Anyhow, some people love being told they're getting shafted, screwed over, the short end of the stick and that they deserve more. Look at Trump's presidential run, that was a staple of his. 'America doesn't win anymore!', 'We got a raw deal!', 'We lost bigly!', 'We make bad deals!' 'You're being cheated!' etc. ad vomitus. It hooks a certain type of person every time.
edit: Let me give you a local example of this type of tactic working: Take the posters Surtur and HenryPym, any bit of cock-info that tells them there's nothing harder than being a white-hetero-male in America, they swallow it balls and all.

Is what Chowder's saying untrue though? Would 400,000 Americans end up losing their jobs? Would we be paying in more money than virtually anyone else? Would people in other countries have some level of control over our economy and industry?
Keep in mind that I'm not arguing that what Chowder is saying is true, I'm just asking if there's opposing evidence from the other side. As I said I knew nothing about any details of this deal before a little while ago so my opinion on it isn't set in stone, I'm just leaning in his direction till I see something that suggests I should do otherwise.
I'm going to take the word of coherent and proven businessmen, scientist and politicians over some ranter on youtube. You do as you wish, you're an adult.
Part of me still hopes that this is just another Trump stunt and maybe he has some grand plan where he'll keep the US in the accord, but renegotiate some things to appease his buddies. Granted, I know this isn't true.
Hey I'm more than willing to listen to those proven buisnessmen and politician(though I'm far less likely to believe a polician without hard empirical evidence), do you have a link to any vids that explains why the stuff Chowder said isn't valid?
