As far as the director, I really don't know. George Lucas?

God no...keep Lucas away.

I don't wanna have to endure love scenes between Starlord and Gamora written by George Lucas.

You don't want Groot replaced with Jar Jar?

No, they'll probably replace him with some totally new person. I would say Edgar Wright might be a good fit but since they seemed to have issues with him on the first Ant Man, probably not.

I don't envy whoever takes the gig, really. Whoever it is the community will probably not be terribly welcoming to him because of how this all went down.

Surtur has no concept of how the real world works. If you’ve seen his take on politics it’s very consistent with his ignorance in that area.

Taika Waititi was brought up before and he'd be a good fit considering how he handled Thor: Raganrok. He's also already on the inside of the MCU so that could help sooth over the butthurt that would happen once a new director is named.

He'd be good but directors don't usually share franchises in the MCU. If Thor's a big part of the next GotG then I think he'd be the perfect choice.

The Russos took over the Avengers franchise from Whedon just fine, and in my opinion, surpassed him.

Russo’s made the best film in the history of cinema. Infinity War blows the original Avengers out of the water and that film was spectacular. Russo’s are superior to Whedon. Whedon admitted he didn’t know how to handle Thanos. He would have ****ed it up imo.

True. Situations are a little different, though. Whedon is the one who decided he was done, and since Captain America films were finished, Russos had no other franchise to continue with, so it made sense for them to move on to a full blow Avengers film. There have been hints that another Thor film may be coming since Ragnarok revitalized the character and the franchise, in which case Waititi would probably continue doing Thor-centric films instead of being moved over to Guardians of the Galaxy.

Quan doing his typical “my opinion is right” Trump style nonsense.

Agreed Waititi is more likely to stay on the Thor franchise. Not the same as Marvels best directors being given their shot at Marvels biggest event franchise.

They will probably get someone new for GOTG. Or perhaps Whedon will return.

As much as I might give Thor 3 stick for the movie it was, I'd have no problem with Taika going off to do Guardians 3. Was Thor 4 confirmed?

No, just hinted at. Hemsworth has implied he'd like to do another one.

Your free to like Whedon more than my Russo’s who are from Ohio by the way. Ohio breeds greatness.

But why not have him do both? Especially since Thor and the GotG work so well together (as you mentioned earlier in the thread); they could even do cross-overs like Captain America franchise did.

I checked Waititties dance-card, it's not very full.

^ Really depends how well he gets the Guardians though.

Tone wise he seems right though. Damn I love Ragnarok. Might watch it again this week.

The humor and feeling of Ragnarok was similar to GotG1-2, why I think he'd be a great fit for GotG3.

Waititi would be my choice for Guardians 3.
Since there are talks of Thor 4 but nothing confirmed, Taika could bring Thor into Guardians 3. And since some of the Guardians are unhappy with the Gunn firing then they could kill some characters off and have a new Guardians team by the end. Especially now that Disney has more characters to use because of the Fox acquisition.
