I like Gunn, but the Silver Lining could be that another director can take Guardians in a new direction or maybe make it more like the first movie. Guardians 2 , Gunn went a little over the top with the kind of humor he decided to implement into that movie.

Look at how the Russos handled the Guardians in Infinity War. I thought they did a good job.

Gunn wrote the Guardians' scenes in Infinity War.

Gunn has no way to explain away what he did, the flipside is the MCU has lost one of the few directors that can do something a bit different than the cookie-cutter stuff we've gotten in the past.
