I know when this part happened, it hurt a lot of people soul on this forum. I told you all that you were getting hyped for nothing. The same thing happened when you all saw Zod teamed up with a bunch of Superman enemies. You thought that he was going to beat all of them on his own.
And in the end, this issue arguably did more to boost Superman's character than any other single issue in his entire history... So no, I don't think any Superman fans were upset that he didn't throw fisticuffs with Manhattan, lol.

i was disappointed that they didn't fight but it was written well enough that the intricacy and profoundness of the plot worked on so many levels that it didn't need to devolve into a feat-centric slugfest.
