Jones Ordered to Pay $473M in Punitive Damanges, Assets Frozen
Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and his company were ordered Thursday to pay an extra $473 million to victims' families and an FBI agent for calling the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting a hoax, adding to a nearly $1 billion jury verdict issued last month. Connecticut Judge Barabara Bellis imposed the punitive damages on the Infowars host and Free Speech Systems. Jones repeatedly told his millions of followers t he massacre that killed 20 first graders and six educators was staged by "crisis actors" to enact more gun control.
Jones was temporarily blocked from transferring any assets or spending money other than for ordinary living expenses by the judge overseeing the Sandy Hook defamation trial in Connecticut. State court Judge Barbara Bellis issued the freezing order late Wednesday over concerns that he was "looting" his own estate and hiding assets through a series of shell companies owned by family members.
The Infowars host dropped his petition for bankruptcy protection, now opting instead for liquidation of company -snip
In a tearful, four-hour “emergency broadcast” last weekend, Jones said there was a conspiracy against him, and that he expected Infowars to be shut down in the next month or two. -snip
Your Lord knows very well what is in your heart. Your soul suffices this day as a reckoner against you. I need no witnesses. You do not listen to your soul, but listen instead to your anger and your rage.
Let him pay off his debt first. If he keeps working after he liquidizes his assets, the court can seize the majority of any income and give it to his victims.
The court should also seize any monetary and property he transferred ownership over to his family members since the lawsuit started. Shows a premeditated attempt to shirk his liabilities.
Alex Jones posting conspiracies with a corporate approved lexicon reeks of irony. Is he baiting his followers to create new companies of the same stories?
