At least the DCEU Fans have the intelligence and actual Mental abilities to realize when a Movie is bad and thus stop throwing money at said bad film in the hopes that the Studio will realize it and stop making bad films.
yep.

this film is a flop as it needs at least $800 million to break even given its $200 million budget. also it'll be on dvd/blu ray by the end of january.. yea there will be a wonder woman 3 but that is just to finish out her contract since patty jenkins is going over to disney to direct her star wars film and prolly mcu stuff too..
wb's only hope is for them to get ten's of millions of subs for hbo max when the sneedercut comes out in march, but folks will pirate that shit too just as they did ww84
Of course it needs that money to break even but all studios are hurting. And most of the theaters in my area aren't at full capacity, cause of the stay at home orders.
Yeah we know that. But its still a financial loss for the studio, and mediocre WOM by audiences. Nothing to brag home about here for WB. Unless it sticks around for many months to pick up the box office.
If we want cinemas to survive, then it matters now more than ever.
That said this was all in response to claims that this film is some kind of success for the DCEU, despite almost everyone saying its not good and the studio purposely taking a loss on this.
Still haven't seen this film yet, and not sure when I will. The mixed but mostly bad reception to it has made me feel in no rush I guess. I honestly wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as the first WW based on the trailers (never being quite sold on Cheetah particularly), but if it had been up to snuff as a sequel, I probably would have tried out an HBO Max subscription, even if only temporarily. Some other films later in the year have made me consider trying the service too, but depends on the state of covid and things by then, as well as the quality of said films.
But yeah, this seems like another miss for DC; pretty cut and dry. The bar was already lowered after Birds of Prey which I skipped entirely, so this doesn't help. As for Wonder Woman 3, we already knew a 3rd film was planned awhile before this one was out, but 1984 will definitely make people more cautious on it when the time comes.
2020 was mostly disappointing out of the films we did get ignoring covid, so in a way I wasn't too surprised at this, but still sucked to be greeted with a subpar film that was anticipated on Christmas day, of one of the worst years no less.
