Damn. Whoever said the new Supreme Court justice sounds like a high school chick was dead on. She really does. Just heard her speak for the first time and it sounds like she’s about 20 seconds away from asking the kid who dropped out last semester but still hangs around the campus after school if she can trade a blowjob for a bag of weed.

Barrett sounding like a 14 year old is why Republicans like her so much.

Aside from your work, education, away from the court, away from public office etc... tell us about your self
This nomination.
The GOP might as well nominate an alexa unit.

That's because Feinstein was phishing for punditry and got rightfully shutdown. They needed to simply pull up her previous descisions and asked her to explain them, they chose not to and you fell for show.

Actually I'm going to call her Judge Weasel now.

Because she weasels her way out of everything.

In Feinstein's voice:

You were on the panel or something in this case where an employer discriminated against employees, some employees were relocated because of their skin color

You abstained from voting.

Nooooooo! (her hand went up fast) Ah you see, let me, you see I didn't want to vote against super clear and super obvious race discrimination and employment discrimination in a court case / appeal which was wrecking all these people's lives because.... er I didn't have enought time to ... you have so little time to look at all the details and all the paperwork and everything...

Weasel Judge for Hire

When feinstein asked her:

Theres this supreme justice over whom you were fangirling. You said, Quote: omg everything she/he does is so accurate!!

uh, you know she/he voted Against gay marriage right? You know in that big case which changed the law.

And then Feinstein gave the background.

She told a personal story... of a couple who had been together for was it 30 or 50 years [A Lifetime] and had been paying all their state taxes and federal taxes... she gave all the details

And said: Do you see why many americans are concerned, no Bullshitting, your stance on this will affect them directly.

Her response (it wasn't an answer) was: As I said previously to some one, some where It's me who's up for nomination, I'm me.

If I addressed everything she weaseled out of and weaseled around and had a mini heart attack and died on stage over...

The only significant change is that Republicans will no longer have abortion as an issue to turn-out voters, but Democrats will. It is a short-sighted and stupid power grab that is going to cost Republicans long-term prospects.

Yes, I am aware of that, what I meant is that abortion is an important issue for Democrats, so they will try to campaign on it federally more forcefully. Your hypothesis might also be true of course.

If Christians care about life the most, then they'd support avoiding pregnancies' that would potentially result in an abortion. That's the loss of a human life and constitutes murder, right? So they should avoid the conception of that life with cost-effective means such as free contraceptives and science based sex-education that prevents the pregnancies to begin with.

Planned Parenthood prevents far more pregnancies than it aborts, by the facts. Sure, a 'super Christian' would believes it is morally reprehensible to take even a single innocent human life so any abortions are murder to them. So legal abortions should be allowed because illegal abortions, by the facts, results in a SHITLOAD of deaths of young women, each year, around the world.

I completely agree with this. And I would add, I think you agree, that social safety nets and economic prosperity shared across all classes is one of the best ways to avoid abortions as well, if people are in safe and stable financial situations they are much more likely to decide to carry a pregnancy to term and have a child.

Those three things: comprehensive sex education with free contraceptives, free (or at least affordable) and accessible health care and family planning (which planned parenthood provides in the US), and economic security are the best way to keep abortions low, and keep people safe, and that should be the goal of all people on all sides, imo

The only time abortions should be legal is when the woman's life is literally at stake. Period.

And no, PP being allowed to exist is not a good thing nor is it fair that tax-payers have to fund abortions.

And before some idiot comes along and claims PP is not tax-funded that is a blatant lie.

Yes I would agree because we have actual science to support this.

Guess what we know about UBI? Young women don't have babies nearly as often while unmarried when they have a UBI. Having a safety net mitigates some of the riskier behaviors of both young men and women. Young men are significantly more like to go to college and young women are less likely to have children outside of marriage. That. Is. Incredible.

How could any anti-abortion, theist, oppose a no-nonsense UBI knowing these facts?

The outcome of these science-based policies is smarter, healthier, and mentally stable young people who grow up to be law-abiding, productive, adults.

To put it with two-heaping scoops of snark: use socialism to maximize capitalism.

Dadudemon: you don't have to be a theist to realize that abortion is murder; science itself says it is a human being which makes terminating it murder by default.

As for "how could any anti-abortion theist be against a UBI?" it is quite simple:

UBI is socialism, socialism is not biblically-supported. The Bible says that he who does not work shall not eat among other things about not working.

Here are some references in the Bible on the subject:

2nd Thessalonians 3:9-10, Proverbs 18:9-10, Proverbs 21:2, Proverbs 10:3-5, Proverbs 14:23, Proverbs 12:11-12, Ephesians 4:27-28, Ecclesiastes 9:10, 1st Thessalonians 4:11-12, 1st Timothy 5:8-9, 1st Corinthians 15:57-58...

...along with many other verses that speak out against laziness, living off others, and how idle hands are the devil's workshop.

So apparently using the term "sexual preference" is now offensive. ACB used it and it triggered people.

Lol. The hypocrisy is funny.

I also love how gender can change but sexual orientation is immutable.

Lol.

The Hyde Amendment makes it so tax funded abortions are rare in Planned Parenthood.

The exceptions where tax funding can be used for an abortion are:

-Rape
-Incest
-Woman's life in serious risk of death

So please, stop lying and ranting like a complete fool.

Preference has always been offensive. Your enduring and persistent attraction to members of the opposite sex is not a "preference." You do not "prefer" women more than men. You are oriented toward women to the exclusion of men. Describing sexuality as a preference is a way for conservatives to covertly call it a choice that they can deride and legislate.

See the problem is Joe Biden used the same term back in May and nobody gave a shit.

See this is the whole "consistency" thing. Which you nutjobs can never be.

Gender is a social construct. It is a role that society defines and assigns to an individual on the basis of his sex at birth. Evident of this are the numerous third-gender traditions of North America and South Asia. A given society can expand its definition of gender and consolidate its roles, or narrow its definition of gender and diversify its roles. But there is no biological basis for any of it. We only use sex to assign it. That a majority of individuals accept the role they are assigned and come to identify with it, does not make it immutable.

Sexuality, on the other hand, is innate and immutable. Sexual arousal is a response of the sympathetic nervous system, and is entirely outside of psychological control. If sexuality was something that could be changed or chosen, then you could easily choose to get an erection looking at nude man, and enjoy the idea of having sexual intercourse with him. If that desire does not naturally arise from you, there is not much of anything that can provoke it.
