He didn't understand the extent of his own powers here.
This story happens in the middle of the Kryptonite X arc, where green K gas in Cyborg Supermans fortress was filtered through The Eradicator and transformed into a chemical that initially powered Superman up to full power, and resulted in him gradually taking in far more energy than he could burn off until his muscles swelled like The Hulk and his heat vision switch was stuck to "on".
The crossover with Icon happens before his powers grow beyond his ability to control, but after he gets lost in space thanks to Lobo and he spends months wandering aimlessly without needing to breath.
Since previously, Superman drowned at the bottom of the sea fighting with Aquaman, he was rightly questioning exactly where his new limits were.

You know a lot of obscure Superman feats for someone who doesn't like Superman.

Lol... all of those scans were not Byrne Superman. Most of them were not. Wipe your eyes.
Also, since you're quoting forum rules, I guess that means we can basically scratch this thread out about Thor or anything that was said about the character since we've seen him flying through space for long periods, right? Or does this just apply to Superman?
You also want to use character A's case to prove character B( Supergirl's scan).
Good, here you go https://ibb.co/gzcJ4X8
Then now we have Superman and Supergirl both are stated to be no need to breathe, Care to post scans that state Thor doesnt need to breathe?
Edit:
Lol, Why the scan links you posted are same as the scans that were posted on this quora answer. Tell me, did you actually read the scans you posted or just googled them? https://www.quora.com/How-can-Super...-in-outer-space

I'm going to say this again, all of those scans are not Byrne.
Also, the scan you posted is before rebirth for Supergirl. The scan I posted happened after rebirth. Then, like I said, we have contradictory scans for both Thor and Superman. Are we exempting the scans from Thor as well or does this just apply to Superman who admitted he needs to breath, RECENTLY?

Are you incapable of reading the character name that youre debating? Please post the scans that state Thor doesnt need to breathe, Like Superman and Supergirl did
No, You didnt. I posted the scan to prove Superman can hold his breath with corresponding scans that state he and Supergirl do not need to breath. You just googled "does Superman need to breathe" and chose random scans that suit you without even reading the comics. Again, if you want to prove Thor doesnt require oxygen then post scans that state so. Like I did
Also you seem to ignore the fact that you did post Byrne era Superman scans. Looks like you are wrong again
Again, are you going to post scans that state thor doesnt require oxygen or just getting raped by the whole forum...like countless times before?
Now we have Superman and his young cousin are both said that they dont have to breathe, and Thor has none, You really made a good effort to prove he really isnt Kryptonians

I think that this applies to both. Both Superman and Thor have showings of not needing air to survive both in space and in the ocean. I guess that it depends on the writer. One example of this for Thor is his battle against Scrier in space unless my recollection is off?
Bios don't mean anything. Lobos bio stated he has "super strength and then some" while Supermans merely says he has super strength. Does anyone think Lobo is stronger than Superman?
