Whatever your opinion on Tucket or his "reporting", the NSA has been suspect for years now. I think Rand Paul is merely using this as an opportunity to demand some much belated transparency, and less cares about defending Carlson.

I knew Tucker being involved would make it a hard sell.
But Rand Paul is a standup guy, if he thinks the NSA needs looking into, that has to mean something.
He's one of the most honorable Senators there are, I think both sides will agree on that.

Wait, was Rand Paul the third party candidate who got like 11% of the vote?
...I got Rand Paul confused with Ross Perot..
Shit.

Not sure it's even perot though. Who was the libertarian guy? Or whoever it was that didn't trust any governmental organization, and was aghast at Prism I think, and supported Wikileaks..?

Interesting question. So what I'm gathering here is that you don't have much idea of who any of these people are, yet your justification for taking this seriously was...
...yeah, this is definitely not about Tucker Carlson or anything.

Republicans voted no on a bipartisan investigation into the Jan 6th attack and insurrection and have done their best to block other attempts, but now they want an investigation into the NSA because Tucker Carlson says so?
Thank God for senators like Paul... and especially thank God for patriots like Tucker Carlson.

"Why it matters: The senator sent a letter to Gen. Paul Nakasone of the National Security Agency, casting doubt on the NSA’s public denial of spying on Carlson and defending the Fox News host as a journalist who should be protected by the First Amendment."
And yet
"Now comes the claim that you can't expect to literally believe the words that come out of Carlson's mouth. And that assertion is not coming from Carlson's critics. It's being made by a federal judge in the Southern District of New York and by Fox News's own lawyers in defending Carlson against accusations of slander. It worked, by the way."
"Just read U.S. District Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil's opinion, leaning heavily on the arguments of Fox's lawyers: The "'general tenor' of the show should then inform a viewer that [Carlson] is not 'stating actual facts' about the topics he discusses and is instead engaging in 'exaggeration' and 'non-literal commentary.' "
"Fox persuasively argues, that given Mr. Carlson's reputation, any reasonable viewer 'arrive[s] with an appropriate amount of skepticism' about the statement he makes."
Nothing like the ol classic tale of Schrödinger's Carlson. When Tucker is inside your tv he can be both a journalist and not a journalist at the same time.
