My thoughts: This movie is going to win every award out there. It is pure genius. Perfection. 100%
It had me at Racoonie, hot dog fingers, butt plugs, rocks! If Dr Strange went into the multi verse, he barely touched it. In this movie you see every layer of the verse. Going to be a classic hit!!!
I guess count me among the 5-10% who didn't like this.
I thought it was a mess. A half-assed mockery of high concept science fiction like The Matrix melded with family drama. Lame AF.
Don't get me wrong, I was amused by the dildo and butt plug fights. And the dog being used as some sort of Sorcerer whip, lol. But the shifts in tone were awful and impossible to take seriously. I'm honestly astonished this has a best picture nom. I guess you can mix any chaotic nonsense with family drama and gay acceptance. Of course I agree with gay acceptance, but it shouldn't be a mess of a film and still get a Best Picture nom.
It was fun seeing Short Round again, and some other good performances and occasionally some impressive editing, but overall not very engaging. I think the only reason I finished it was because it was hard to take my eyes off of the train wreck.
Watched this start to finish last night, had some very good moments/scenes, but overall found it to be somewhere between okay and good. I don't see a best picture here.
I think Jaden found this to be "absolutely tremendous" because he loves big black buttplugs.
