First guy I went to said, restoring my entire laptop would be cost-prohibitive. Now I need to see if there's a tech guy who could salvage the hard drive itself. Hasn't been a personal priority unfortunately.

Indeed. Electro, for example. Almost limitless potential, but CIS ruins everything.
