Here’s an interesting scenario: The twins are already 2 – 3 years old when movie starts (birth unbeknownst to Anakin, but knownst to us). What if Padme is supposed to be guarded by Obi-Wan as they meet Anakin on the lava planet. There is some conflict with the clones or other “bad guys”, and in the process, Padme falls into the crater or is about to. Since R-2 cannot use the force (much too vulgar a display of power), Anakin gives up the fighting because he sees Padme about to die. He tries to save her but cannot and in the process gets badly burned, injured etc…. He blames her demise on Obi-Wan and the rest of the Jedi. This is what finally turns him to the dark side. Then he has the duel with Obi-Wan, both of which to be separated and escape. Obi-Wan hides the twins while Vader "hunts down and destroys the Jedi-Knights" and the story continues…. This would tie up many loose ends in just a few scenes of film.
Just a thought.
besides, from what it sounds like, GL doesn't want any sympathy for Anakin. He wants him to be as ruthless and evil as possible. Have you heard the new "Spoiler" about his acts in the temple? If its true, there will be no sympathy for him. And I'm and diehard Vader fan saying this. I don't know how cool I'll think he is after this one.
Everyone says that Padme is pregnant during the film or that the skywalker twins will be seen in the movie. According to EU, in ANH, Luke and Leia are 18 (so there born 18 years before ANH); episode III is set 20 years before ANH.
So that elimanates any assumption that the twins will appear in the movie or that Padme will be pregnant (18 years + 9 months= roughly
19 years).

Which means that Padme shouldnt die in Episode III because the twins
arent born yet. If she dies, she is not Luke and Leia's mother.

i think the two year thing is wrong. all of the timelines say that Episode 3 is to take place 3-4 years after EpII. I'm fairly certain that's old info, as are many of the headlines on Killermovies main page. Like about the Catwoman movie being kaput, well it seems to be going fine according to everyone else including DC comics. So I think that info is wrong. All of the timelines for the SW Universe were changed abouot a year or so ago to have Episode 3 being 3-4 years before ANH.
Oh, so now they can change dates however they like?

they said EP III is three years after EP II. They called it real time.
Three years between the films premiere, three years between the plot lines. aka real time. That was the answer from Lucasfilm
why should real time apply? wierd. the timelines in all the lucasfilm products USED to have it at two years but then I think he worked out he math and was like oh $#!^, thats gonna throw off the ages of the twins. Cause all the sudden it was 3-4 years. I didn't even notice it for a while it was so subtle.
