Ritchie Wants To Direct Another Gangster Movie

Gotcha!
Guy Ritchie is planning to make a gangster film based on a book written by Ronnie Knight, the former husband of 'EastEnders' actress Barbara Windsor, report Peoplenews. "Guy wants the rights", said a source close to Ritchie and his wife Madonna. "This one has the potential to be the best Brit gangster film yet, and he wants to do it".

Knight, who served seven years in jail after handling £300,000 of stolen money from the 1983 Security Express raid (Britain’s biggest cash robbery) was apprehended only when he turned himself in after 11 years as a fugitive on Spain’s Costa del Sol. He is currently writing a book which details the events leading to his arrest. Gotcha!, which is due to be published in October, is being written in conjunction with former Detective Superintendent Peter Wilton, the man who finally put Knight behind bars.

Ritchie, who rode to success on the back of his two East End gangland films, 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' and 'Snatch', is believed to have approached both Knight and Wilton with a view to making the movie. "A movie of Gotcha! would be an instant classic", said one industry insider. "Aside from being a great chase, it also deals with the Spanish side of East End ganglife. Nobody has attempted to do that before".
