Sony's Screen Gems are in final negotiations to acquire feature rights to popular video game
The Getaway, according to Hollywood Reporter sources.
Although the company declined to comment on the deal, it's understood that Screen Gems is hoping to send the project into production early next year with a scheduled release date to coincide with the next edition of the video game. Both are expected to roll out sometime next year.
While the film deal is still being negotiated, it is expected that the parties involved will reach an agreement because they all belong to the Sony family.
