Sony Pictures Classics has acquired North American rights to director Andrei Kravchuk's
The Italian, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The Russia's submission for a foreign-language film Oscar is set in 1942, the film centers on an abandoned 5-year-old boy living in a rundown orphanage in a small Russian village who is chosen by an Italian family for adoption.
